WE have recently returned from a trip to NZ which involved two days guided fishing with Chris. It was stunning. Chris was super organised, relaxed and put us onto some terrific fish. As a relative new comer to fly fishing he was able to give me plenty of tips to seeing fish, working out what they might be taking and improving casting. We are already talking about a return trip. I recommend Chris to anyone wanting a guide in Fiordland.

Sunny day, great waters, fun conversation, a friendly and very helpful and instructional day, and we enjoyed getting to know you and experiencing fly fishing on a river for the first time. Was great to receive so many good tips and for your encouragement, support and motivation!I will always treasure your tips regarding casting, fly placement and presentation, and how to cover the water effectively. Was a real treat to make that first cast so close in the fast water, instead of bombing the fly across the water, and that nice fish taking the blow fly right in front of me! You are a special friend now and we will always treasure our day on the water with you!

Enjoyed a great day out with Chris. It was like going fishing with old mate except he knew his stuff! Very knowledgeable and patient and willing to share all of his skill and knowhow. Had an amazing day out with Chris, his knowledge of the Te Anau and Southland area is extensive and he can get you into fish using different methods. If it's a Backcountry experience he is your man. I highly recommend the services of Chris, professional and a warm people person, you will have plenty of fun on the water!!

Three fantastic days a long time coming due to covid. Chris put me on dozens of fish, many of which I scared away with duff casting or snatched the fly from their mouths but he stayed patient and I landed some beautiful wild brownies & rainbows.

I had a great time fishing with Chris in the Te Anau region and would highly recommend Chris as a guide! I am just a beginner at fly fishing and Chris patiently showed me the ropes of trout fishing in NZ (including untying and retying my many snarled lines). We fished two separate rivers throughout the day and I caught five beautiful Rainbows! The kicker for me that put Chris over the top as a great guide was that after the day ended he immediately followed up on some questions I'd asked him via email which helped me continue my fly fishing journey in NZ. If you are hoping to do some fly fishing in NZ definitely give Chris a call!

I had a great morning fishing with Chris on the Upukerora river. We hooked into a few fish and coming from the North Island I learnt a lot about the nuances and differences about casting and nymph fishing in the South Island. Im looking forward to coming back when I have more time to explore the rivers around Te Anau with Chris.

Had a great few days with Chris - he's a knowledgeable and very hard working guide that went above and beyond to get us into some awesome fish on dry flies! Definitely book him if you are fishing in the Fiordland area!
