Moray Terrace Reserve Freedom Camping
Spoonbills,stilts, stunning sunset and to top it all the southern lights. Clean toilet and good information about the history of the area. You have to camp between the markers. We loved this place. Thank you to the local community. The nearby cafe had great food too.

Nice place to camp. Clean toilets. Take rubbish away with you. Nice walk out to the Mataura River mouth at low tide.

What a great stop! Can park right next to the water with a great view for sunset. We arrived nice and early and enjoyed the afternoon and watched as the place filled up until all spots closest to the water were taken around 5pm. Two very clean drop toilets, only one with toilet paper though! No running water, even a tap, that we could see so make sure you're prepared. Very windy as well, but definitely one of our favourite stops of the whole trip and it cost nothing!

Lovely spot to freedom camp, right next to estuary, watching a lady kite surf, walked across estuary at low tide and saw remains of shipwreck. Good facilities at park next door as well.
