Will not go here again. Service was bad. Had to clear our own table. Menu was disappointing. Not up to previous standard. Bland and boring choices.

Came for a lunch today with a group of 7, of which only 6 ordered food. Longest wait from order to receiving food was almost 90 minutes. Coffee came cold, food was cold, over cooked and salad was browning. It’s a shame there was such cool things to see in the museum and they have a fancy looking restaurant to let them down with terrible service (dirty tables, not getting cleaned but water getting topped up) slow and not great food and just a negative staff attitude behind the counter, given you can’t order from your table I feel you should have decent service behind the till. Kids playroom was probably the best thing there! $87 for 2 people with a 250ml drink isn’t something I’ll be doing again.

First time we went food and coffee were great. Staff busy but courteous. Second time, lots of cooks in the kitchen but only one waitress and one barista. Long wait for service. No recognition by staff as we're waiting to order. Lots of empty tables that were loaded with used dishes, tables were not cleared and new patrons were piling dirty dishes to one side of the tables. Waitress brings food out and walks past the dishes (piled on about 75% of the tables) doesn't pick up a single plate. Food still pretty good. Third time same thing with dirty uncleared tables, service incredibly slow, a couple waiting behind us left and so did we. This place could be great but the staff clearly have no idea about food service or table hygiene.

Coffee was good, service was average as We were told table service was on but the server never came back to the table to take our order and we had to order at the counter anyway. The food was terrible I ordered the corned beef hash which specified confit garlic spinach and potato but also came with about a half litre of butter in the bottom of the plate, my girlfriend was served eggs Benedict with bacon so dry it could break teeth would not recommend.

Ordered a slice and coffee (wanted a salad but honestly, it looked a little off in the cabinet for $13 or so ish ?) so decided to go for the safe option. Oh was I wrong, the slice was dry and tasted like refrigerator. Trust me when I say, if I’m usually unhappy I will speak up but unfortunately in this instance I felt there was hostility or awkwardness behind the counter between staff? and decided it was best to just retreat. The only positive I have was the coffee (that took 13 minutes to arrive) and I wish I had’ve got that in a large! Sadly won’t be going back, the bar was high but now it’s about as low as the ground.

Had lunch here on the 30th Sep 2021 with my Aunty and Uncle and husband. What a great experience!!!! Such lovely staff and the atmosphere was relaxed and calm. I had a beef burger and fries for lunch - absolutely delicious and after being sick and not able to eat much this was amazing!! Husband had the lamb sliders with potato skins which he never chooses to eat! - yet he really enjoyed them. My Aunty had a cheese scone and skins. And the other meal was salmon on a potato rosti and an egg. All ridiculously tasty meals and really nice presentation too in the cool bowl/platter type plate!!! Will be back again definitely next time in Invercargill!!! Thankyou

Lovely staff and really fresh and tasty food. Definitely recommend visitors come here. We needed something quick before heading to Bluff for the ferry and they were outstanding.

Food was lovely and fresh, eggs bene and lamb hash with a cheeky raspberry brownie and coffee to finish. Eggs were cooked just right, yolk flowing when cut into, the lamb hash was full of flavor and the lamb just fell apart, very tender. The brownie was quite rich and something to be shared between two in my opinion but so yummy. Staff were lovely and helpful and the facility was clean and tidy. Always a great place to visit.

Had the Big Breakfast in the afternoon because I got there late and had not eaten up till then. After that meal I didn't need to eat for another day. Big it was. The restroom was clean and very interesting as well.Went back there to finish looking g around one of the Best Transport Museums in the World.

We stopped by this cafe on our way down to Bluff.Ambience - This is such a cool cafe. The deco and the interior is worth the visit itself. Car themes permeate the place, even as far as the men's toilet, which took the term, pit stop" to a new level.Food - we ordered a couple of items from the cabinet and the Grille Seafood Chowder. The Salmon Quiche from the cabinet is quite nice but the Seafood Chowder is simply awesome. Add some pepper and a dash of lemon to the seafood chowder and you will not be disappointed.Service - the service was great. Lots of smiles and very prompt service by the staff
