If you’re looking for a great (and challenging) hike or a gorgeous view with an uphill drive, this is the place for you. Absolutely gorgeous. You can see everything! They even have launch pads for hang gliders which is amazing. I’d highly recommend stopping here to check out the view!

Stunning spot to visit on a clear day. The walks are a little bit slippery when it's been raining but you get ready views in all directions from the various lookout areas. Definitely worth the drive up the narrow windy road

great view. this is not only for walking you can drive all the way up, plenty of car park at the top. we enjoy. there’s picnic tables on the way up stunning view as well.

What a lovely experience at Te Mata Peak! You don’t even need to hike up if you want to. Just drive your car up and enjoy! It’s a really good place to unwind and appreciate the beauty of nature. The peak is also picturesque and would definitely leave you with good memories!

A beautiful walk sunrise, midday or sunset. Warm oranges to rich green colours. Plenty of forest and bird, and views in all directions. Recommend parking at the end of Tauroa road, and walking the chambers walk and onto blue or red to the top (reasonable fitness required). Visit the giant redwoods on the way. There's toilets at the carpark and a filtered drinking fountain. Expect around 2+ hours return to the carpark if you are sight seeing.

One of the best places in NZ for views. We ran up to the peak; not easy in the heat but very satisfying at each little view point, and worth getting to the peak.

This is a great place for walking and biking! Range of tracks available of different lengths for both walkers and cyclists. We did the red coloured track that took us around the entire loop. The view at the summit was not the best, but the walk itself was very enjoyable and worth it, especially at the red wood forest!

If the place is busy is for a reason. Windy, very windy but what a view! Great option for the whole family. You can drive until the very top, but you can accept the challenge and do some of the tracks around and enjoying the sleeping giant.
