Auckland Museum Atrium

I had the pleasure of exploring it on a rainy afternoon and discovered that it's free for Auckland residents, creating a vibrant atmosphere even in gloomy weather. Love museums anyway so was a great day. Got to handle bones of living and extinct animals. Just awesome.

Had visited this place to witness a remarkable lady Annie & her dad William Crummer who both had put on a fabulous evening to entertain all that showed up to this event. An a incredible establishment & a night i will never forget with food & drinks to dance the night away.

Super super cool museum! You can easily spend 4 hours there. It’s free if you are a NZ resident or have a work holiday visa which is a huge plus.

We love visiting Auckland Museum especially when there is a special exhibition on. Currently it is Sea Monsters. It was very interesting. I particular liked the interactive componants that children were really enjoying. The huge skeletons gave you a great perspective of the true size of these amazing sea creatures from the past. Allow an hour to enjoy.

A fantastic place to take the kids to learn about many varied subjects such as animals, birds, pre-historic creatures and much much more. Definitely worth a trip if you want a day out with the family. Free for Aucklanders. Very tidy, well maintained and friendly staff. Give it a good 4 - 5 hours to explore all floors, there are a total of 3.

Seriously, where else can you see two T.Rex fossil skeletons? I preferred the museum displays in their earlier form, but that's just a loss of the familiar. Lots of kids there for school outings and that must be good

Some refreshing upgrades since my last visit. Wish I had more time to enjoy it fully. Budget 4 hours to explore all of it.

Came through for the prehistoric aquatic show. Loads of fun. Interactive and the kid loved it.Had lunch at the bistro. Nice exhibits and wheelchair/pram access everywhere. Lots of fun and a good way to spend the day. Admittance to the museum is free if you can prove you're a resident (utility bill and photo ID)The lawns outside are lovely for picnics and relaxation10/10 would do again

An amazing Lego exhibition is on at the moment and my grandkids loved it. Weird and Wonderful is a fascinating place for young people and is a permanent attraction. The volcano-earthquake house has been updated and well worth the shake up!
