It’s our second time here because my teenagers just love these baos, particularly the pork belly, yum! The service is great too, conversational and fast. Today I tried the Vietnamese drip coffee, if you like condensed milk, this is your kind of coffee!

I'll start with the good first so that it's at least what people see up front: their bao burger was a different twist on what we all know, but could have had a bit more flavour and moistness (my wife confirmed it wasn't as good as the first time she had it; this was the main reason she wanted me to come here with her). However, the tasty pork belly made up for it. The greens weren't anything I'd otherwise talk about, but I'm personally not the one to order these anywhere. They've got seating all over the place; outdoors in big tables or individual high tops against the exterior wall of the bar, the bar area has a couple of high tables (but nobody dedicated to running the bar), and then the main seating room plus what seemed to be a function area in the back given the big gathering back there. Now, unfortunately I have to admit that I was very hesitant to find a table for my wife and I when I first walked in because the front room and bar area both seemed to reek of hot body odor; I don't know from food or patrons or a combination from the humidity inside, but I would have turned away that day if I hadn't already agreed to meet there. Hopefully this was just a one time fluke.

My family and I had the privilege to have booked out the courtyard for a gender reveal. Was a beautiful experience. The food was amazing. Myself and my partner ordered the low and slow belly bao lunch deal for $15 and definitely left us feeling full. Everything was flavourful and the portions were just right! We ordered a range of platters, beverages, chicken wings were super yum!! Kids meals are filling also. Reasonably priced and no hire fee to book private! I had family running late to the event but it was no hassle at all to extend the time which took a lot of stress away. Communication was spot on and wasn’t a hassle to book!! They also cleaned up our confetti canon mess prior to me arranging that we would clean up! Awesome experience, Lovely customer service and delightful food. my family loved it and will definitely be back again. Thank you tucks and bao for the lovely evening.

Not sure where Jeffery Chan got his rib (pork fiction) photo from 3 weeks ago but attached is ours from tonight. Sooooo disappointed! Huge let down. Maybe because we had ours takeaway that it sucked so much! Tasted like what you get at any regular Chinese restaurant. The salt and pepper calamari again hugely disappointing. Tender meat but very oily batter! The bao again nothing good to say because again very oily shrimps! Luckily had a 25% entertainment book voucher but still cost $42! The only thing we did like was the stir fried greens which I don’t have a photo of. Definitely not going back again!

They have quite a selection of different items on their menus. they have baos, including the baoger, and tucks, smaller side dishes. We grabbed a bao each and shared a few tucks. I had the baoger and that was alright. Toasted bao with beef patty inside which was a bit too cooked for my liking. We shared the popcorn shrimp and the wings of fire. Both were nice. The wings weren't super spicy though.A fairly large amount of seating area. Food was ok.

Really enjoyed food here. It is asian fusion and done right! The dishes are to share. Some are small and some larger. Depends on your appetite, we had 4 dishes between 4 of us + dessert and that was enough for us. All the dishes we tried were delicious, they had their own unique flavours. Really enjoyed the wontons and the pad thai both had a tangy flavour I like. Definitely give it a go!

My friend and I visited T&B on a busy Friday night. The place had a good vibe and was nice and warm on a cold night (I recommend sitting in the front of the restaurant, as there was definitely a temperature gradient making it colder towards the back). We ordered several bao and the No Bulgogi noodles. Our main waitress explained she was in training so wasn't familiar with the menu and had to double check a number of things, however she was very friendly and tried her best to answer our questions :). The food arrived after a short wait. The bao was good but my vegetarian friend commented that her last visit had been much better as her tofu this time was very chewy and underseasoned. Meanwhile my noodles were nice with a generous portion of meat, but we're quite salty and very very strongly garlic. I requested some extra chili twice from a staff member, but after waiting 10mins had to follow up again, after which our main waitress kindly brought over a couple of different options. Overall experience was good but not amazing. I might be tempted to revisit with a group or if there was a change in menu... But there are plenty of other Asian fusion options to explore in Auckland first (especially ones with an easier parking situation).

I lunched in at Tucks & Bao in Newmarket and was immediately impressed by how bustling the ambiance was with several groups of varying backgrounds and ethnicities inside. The restaurant has several dining areas ranging from indoors, to the patio, outdoors and in the bar area.Staff was very friendly and diverse and I was seated and had my ordered taken very efficiently.I enjoyed the Filipino pulled pork Bao and Korean slaw, accompanied by a glass of Barossa Shiraz. My food and drink was fantastic and I’d like to visit here again trying other items on the menu. Prices were very reasonable.

I ordered the food through uber so can't comment on the service or atmosphere. The food arrived in about 40 mins as promised which was good. The food was a let down and bad value for money. I eat out fairly often and think for a $26 Pad Thai you would expect a lot more. The portion was small, although it did arrive with a separate container of mung beans, lime and mint which was great but a pitiful amount of chicken for the price. There are so many Asian fusion places around that this place rated pretty low on the list with taste and value. There was nothing special that would justify the price. A normal Thai place would have been much better for this. The wonton taco was average. The wonton pastry was good but the slaw was so chunky and dry, it didn't taste fresh at all. The fish crumb was tasty and delicious but the fish was so thin that it was fried to a crisp in the middle. The crispy tofu was fresh and pretty good for $16. Overall I can think of many other places I would rather go eg blue breeze, pok pok, lantern alley and many more. Sorry, nice concept but seems like another trendy Asian fusion place that doesn't quite deliver. Maybe the dine in experience is different and I need to try the other menu items, but so many mixed reviews shows it can be hit and miss.
