Poor poor service. Had to phone parent company when my oven didn’t appear to heat up properly. Manager wasn’t interested. Having paid $3000 for it I expected better. Finally got a new one which I had to pick up and drop old one myself. It still doesn’t work. Takes 20 mins to heat. Cooks unevenly. Would never buy another SMEG again.

After parking my truck in their car park to not just visit Kitchen Things but Russell Electrical some upstart staff member ranted at me for parking in the car parking area which was totally emptyThe week before we had bought two wall ovens and hot plates. I needed a bar fridge but upon their obtuseness I purchased this elsewhere. They have some anger issues within their staff to sought out.

The aftercare service is appalling!I purchased 2 ovens and a cooktop in the Baumatic range ( apparently Baumatic states there items are built to last! ) only to have all 3 of these items die. Both the ovens in the month of there 3 year install date and the cook top just shy of its 4 year anniversary installation date. When I tried to reject my items using the Consumers guarantees ACT I was told they would cover the costs of repairs etc... Only for the repair man to pull out his portable EFTPOS machine and charge me, for all parts and labour including the service fee call out both times!Listen learnt! I will NEVER purchase anything ever again though kitchen things.

Duplicitous pity bunch of fellows. We over paid them and instead of giving us the $50 refund they restored to childish behaviour by giving us $49 back. This was after basically having to threaten then with going through to Head Office.

Great range of cooking appliances. We chose a Bosch 4 burner with large element for cooking sauces and chutneys in oversize pots.

I have not been as impressed as I was by Store Manager Alysha in her knowledge and willingness to do what ever I needed to help me make an informed decision. I was looking for a front loading washing machine. Alysha made this the easiest purchase for such an item. I went with a Bosch and am loving it so far.I recommend this shop not only for quality products, but best of all best quality knowledge of the products being sold. I've not found this anywhere else in Palmerston North.It is essential to have the back up of the product being sold. Thanks Alysha you were just so helpful.

Roger at Kitchen Things was right! The Falmec range hood is just excellent. Does just what it says on the tin. It is super quiet, effective and easy to take care of. In an open plan situation, with an off-board motor, it works like a dream (for best performance, start it running for several minutes before starting to cook and open one window a tiny amount for air re-supply). Even on its highest setting, can still hold a conversation in a normal voice. And even highly aromatic cooking smells stay right there instead of permeating the entire house. Have had it 6 months now and still as delighted with it as on day 1.
