Greens extremely slow, (played last 3 days ) cored only 3 weeks ago - good cover of grass on the fairways although they need a mow - overall not bad

Don’t play golf often. Travelled to Whakatane with some friends and decided to have a round. So glad we did - what an A++ day. The staff at the Pro Shop could not have been more accomodating and professional. Highly recommend. Thanks again Pro Shop team for your help in organising and the tips.

Greens were really nice and course was long and a true test but after I finished and was packing away my gear I read their huge sign out front with the green fee charges and I was over charged so went back to tell them. “I just charge whatever is printed on the score card you printed” was his response. “We are also changing that sign soon” was his other response. He offered no apology or refund. Very poor customer service.

Whakatane Golf Club
Sheltered from and out of sight of the sea, Whakatane feels and looks more like a parkland layout than a traditional links course - you'll see farmland views rather than sea views from the course. The terrain is very gently undulating, easy walking, with a nice variety of trees and flowers adorning the course - the trees never too dense to make ball-finding difficult. Greenkeeping is generally very good, the greens even-paced and not too slopey, with good bunkering around them.
