I got my hair curled today from Sulin. I had a good experience with this hair salon because the staffs were very friendly and mostly important my hair turned out very good and cute. Would definitely recommend my friends to this place <3

It was my first experience with Sulin hair (Newmarket) and I wanted to do something special as it was my birthday. The quality of my hair was phenomenal and the ladies at the basins were all very kind towards me (Winnie) she was very nice to me and helped me alot, she made my day. When I met my stylist I was impressed by his attention to detail, his consulatation was very thorough and he actually listened to what I wanted to do.However it was when my stylist was constantly critiquing me and saying negative words towards me through out the day. Backstory I used a box dye on my hair (brown) which made my hair brassy ( variety of different shades and very patchy) which is a big “NO NO”and I knew it was a mess.I understood that I was gonna get alot of backlash for it but I didn’t know that it was gonna be constantly brought up during the day.There was also an instance; So I have Polynesian hair and also born with eczema and I can’t help if it flares up due to my shampoo or even stress. However I was embarrassed when he made comments of it and took photos of it claiming it to be dandruff.I had to tell him it was eczema and it made me feel uncomfortable.He thanked me for telling him which I didn’t mind ( I’m a non confrontational person) so I honestly dealt with it. For the majority of the session I was holding back my tears cause I honestly wanted to feel good about myself especially for my birthday and when you have someone constantly doing faces behind you and frowning doesn’t really help. Comments like “it looks nice from afar but not up close” even after the hair was fully finished, made me feel very upset with myself. It was a shame because I really looked forward to this appointment and really wanted to get my hair done by this stylist because he’s very popular on TikTok and for it to turn out like this, was heartbreaking.Overall the quality of his work and attention of detail is amazing and I can tell that he wanted to fix my hair. I can understand if he was stressed or having a bad day and I happened to get the brunt of it. But at the end of the day the constant comments said about my hair made me cry as I left the salon which I’ve never experienced this before, it made me feel horrible on my own birthday.Finally, after everything that happened to me I don’t think I will be comfortable enough to come back to this salon which is a shame because I wanted to make this my “forever hair salon.” I really hope this is a one off because I don’t want anybody to go through what I did especially as a first time customer.

Had an absolutely amazing experience. Had my hair cut and coloured, the haircut is the best I’ve ever had and the colour is lovely. Ricky was my hairdresser and he is great!! Good service and very talented hair dresser. Overall very pleased with my experience. Definitely recommend

For 2.5yrs I have been going to the Sylvia Park branch, this was my first experience at Newmarket and JayCee (JC?) did my cut & style. My hair is pixie/short and layered & I have struggled for years to find a place that understands what I want! Highly recommend this place for top-quality service, they're amazing!

I usually go to M11 Studios but had a photoshoot on a Sunday when they were closed. Booked for a dry styling with Sulin Newmarket, asked for simple waves that are slightly glam. The result was accurately described by my 5yo as “poofy and frizzy like you just got out of bed” (photo 1). Had to quickly remedy at home myself with GHD to greatly improved results (photo 2). $45 for a hair disaster.***Edited to add:Sulin contacted me to arrange a complimentary dry styling with a different stylist, Shiai, who did a great job (see photos 3 & 4). If only she had been my stylist the first time round for my photoshoot which obviously can't be salvaged. Appreciate the professionalism shown by Sulin to remediate.

I don't think I've ever been in such a progressive and active space, it is an experience in its self. Su lin is fantastic at cutting my hair with care and consideration. This is a young persons salon but as an aged person I feel considered and respected

I got my hair cut by Ricky not long ago and I was so pleased with the results. The head massage and hair wash felt amazing. There was so much attention to detail with my cut. Walked out with a big smile on my face. Sulin is my sister’s go to, my mum’s go to and now mine. Thank you

I came into the new market Sulin hair salon with no idea what I wanted done with my hair but wanted it to be a drastic gorgeous change and I requested to have Harry as my hairdresser as iv heard so many amazing things about him and his talent AND WOW he transformed my hair so amazingly. He is Amazing and is so very talented, I was extremely pleased with his work and recommend asking for Harry Bain when coming to this Salon.

A while ago I was there for a simple hair highlighting/colouring session which I had been doing regularly every 3 months at other place.Firstly, the stylist that I booked didn't turn up and I was told by her staff that she is on leave on that day! But when I made the booking directly with her via WeChat she asked me to make it half an hour late as she needs to drop her daughter off to school.I would have cancelled the appointment right at that point if I was not going overseas the next day which I regret so much later.The stylist firstly asked me to add a treatment which I have never been asked to at other place - she insist it's necessary for all clients that comes to do the hair coloring.Later towards the end the stylist tried to sell me all sorts different products, almost pushing and forcing it. When I refused to buy the products, the stylist looks very unhappy making me very uncomfortable.I was charged for over $600 at the end, I was so shocked because the same job at other place usually only cost me $230.I questioned about the breakdown of the cost, the treatment that she forced me to add on was $100 which she didn't tell me, and I was advised with this crazy total, that's how much they usually charge and it's very common" for clients requesting the same service in this salon.I walked out in disbelief after paying
