Adult Community Psychiatric Service

I was very dissapointed with reception when I rang to make an inquiry on behalf of my elderly friend who is under a compulsory treatment order..I only got that much out before she interupted me asking me her name which I hesitantly said then I told her I hadn't finished what I was inquiring about and her name wasn't important. Instead of listening to me she pressed me for my friends date of birth insisting she needed that information so she could put me to the right person who could help me..she was very sharp and condescending. Next my friends case manager answered who's not a psychiatrist and the lady person i wanted to talk to. My friend has every right to privately arrange an independent psychiatric assessment without her assigned doctors and health workers knowing. All I wanted was a list of names or one name of someone who could give my friend an independent psychiatric review to see if she does not need a welfare guardian. But I never managed to get that out for the rude administrator on the phone. I may have rung the wrong place but still the receptionist could have listened and steered me in the right direction instead of arrogantly pressing me for someones private details. I feel sad for people who are mentally unwell and have to deal this attitude at reception.
