We hired a bike with a baby seat and a adult bike with kid’s bike attached to it. Bruce and his team have provided excellent professional service and helps in getting the right bikes and gears. Really appreciate the time and happy with the service. We had a wonderful time going to the Oakley Waterfall using the waterview cycle path. We will definitely be back for more hiring!

I have had really great service from Adventure Cycles in the past and support how the owner trains up young people to fix bikes. Awesome. However I purchased a mountain bike from them and set off on the Hauraki Trail a couple of days later. However late afternoon biking into Paeroa my pedal came off despite attempts to tighten it . Despite all shops being shut we luckily found someone on the road and he had spare pedal in his garage and replaced it for us for free. We biked the last 8kms in darkness to the airbnb. I took the bike back to AC to tell them what happened and to say the thread on the crank was probably shot from the tighening of the first pedal and that they needed to fix it. I was asked for evidence of what happened and said I should have called him (6pm at night in another town) and that he had lots of friends in Paeroa who could have helped ( who would have known) . I was treated like it was my fault and that I would need to pay for the repair. It was only $24 but on principle I was appalled at this customer service. The owner needs to do some professional development about customer service. They have lost my and my family's custom ( 4 bikes) plus this review for $24 and insisting the customer was wrong and they were right.

Some bikes were of good quality, some were old, rusty and would have been better off in the trash.

This is a fantastic set up. Bruce & his team organised a bike for my North Island solo trip; December and January 2023.I needed a basic, road worthy, hardy mountain bike as I was tackling lots of gravel and hills. This is exactly what I got and it rode smoothly all the way up the East Coast & down the West Coast with a few diversions.Bruce patiently responded to many emails sent from Yorkshire prior to my adventure and opened up especially (shop is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays) to receive the bike back under the buy back scheme! Such a great initiative!The shop is a very busy, popular establishment and I highly rate it.Thankyou so much Bruce and team.

Bruce would be the rudest person I’ve come across….. was prepared to spend $400-$500 on a second hand bike but he won’t get a cent of my money. Wouldn’t help in anyway other than pointing to a pile of junk and saying “choose one”and then when one of his staff was answering questions he came over and told staff member to get into another job that was “more important than your questions” your lucky I was with my son is all I can say Bruce and I will go far and wide to tell people to avoid your “shop”

Google Photos reminded me about our visit to the Adventure Cycles 12 years ago! It was a great suport before and after our journey throughout NZ! Mr. Bruce used to employe people from abroad so they can get used to english language and also learn about bikes. Awesome atitude. Hope you all are very well!!!

Visited the excellent team at Adventure Cycles this morning for new grips and a kickstand for my son's bike - everything was organised so easily and quickly. Such a helpful team providing a great service. Thank you very much.

I had a good chat with the guy at Adventure Cycles after our touring bicycles failed to arrive at Auckland airport. Adventure Cycles kindly agreed to be able to quickly fix us up with suitable bikes, panniers and any other cycling kit we might need.It was incredibly reassuring to know that if our bikes failed to materialise, then we would have an alternative option.As things turned out, our own bikes did eventually arrive.In hindsight however, flying without our own bikes and buying touring bikes from Adventure Cycles, would have been a sensible option. It certainly would have been less stressful!!!Their 50% buy back scheme is very good and well worth considering ..

Friendly and helpful folks. I called up in the morning and they had a bike for me 30 minutes later. Very reasonable prices too.

Bruce is a kind person and a very experienced and knowledgeable cycler. He fitted my bicycle with patience and precision, I left feeling like I owned a new one and I was graced with his kind service free of charge.Most cycle shops won't offer this fitting service and are not as practical in finding a solution to my needs. What I was quoted from Evo Cycles was $350+ for changing my cassette to a higher gear ratio while Bruce was able to offer an even better option for less than $50.
