Let me a bit more elaborate to fully explain why I am sincerely awarding these 5 stars: I spend a lot of time fishing up in Houhora and that's why I went to the local Auto Repair shop first when my elderly VW Golf started making noises. A broken flexi-pipe was the diagnosis and after a few days of waiting the original part was replaced by some sort of flexible hose. Despite paying several hundred dollars, the noise was back after only 3 days. The 2nd repair attempt" was for free but only lasted 2 days...Then a local guy recommended the Kaitaia Exhaust Center along Hway 1 and the friendly and obviously very competent mechanic Leyton only shook his head about what he saw. Different to what the Houhora mechanic had told me I did not have to replace the whole exhaust but he replaced the one-dollar-shop part with a proper flexi-pipe and an excellent welding job. And I was charged considerably less! 1000 kms later the car is still as silent as a new one....Thank you
