VTNZ Silverdale

Michelle in reception is amazing. I came to get a COF and expecting to wait for ages but she made sure that I was provided some options. There were a few people at that time but she was able to treat everyone professionally, efficiently and with a smile. She made things happen. Very impressed.

Went early (luckily), as have seen how big the queues get. Would give 5 stars for service, if it was purely based on the lovely lady at the desk who helped me change some of my contact details prior to my WOF. However, the guys doing the WOF did their job, but didn’t thoroughly explain why my vehicle failed, just told me “show this to any workshop and they’ll know what to do”. Next time I’d appreciate if they actually explained what needed to happen, so that I could have a better idea of what I’m looking at. After all, it is my own vehicle I’m paying for them to look at, and I feel I have the right to know what’s going on. I would have asked if there wasn’t a massive queue that I’d be holding up.

Hard to time it right as sometimes there is a long wait, but if you bring a book or something to do while you wait for a WOF chances are there will be no ques.Staff are friendly and very helpful.

I used this VTNZ for the first time during the school holidays, on a Monday afternoon. It is local to me and I thought I'd give it a go since my local mechanic couldn't get me in on the same day, which was a problem as my wof was going to expire the next day. Oops!I drove in the entrance and found I needed to follow the WOF arrow which takes you around the back, where you join the queue of cars waiting to get a wof. Thankfully only one car was ahead of me. I went inside to arrange the paperwork, where there were 2 people on reception and there were people being served. I waited about 10mins, then it was my turn. I gave the info and paid, and took a seat to wait. The staff on reception were pleasant and seemed to be working hard to be efficient (though one could do with learning to type faster, lol, as taking my details for a reminder was a tad painful to watch).Some people came in after 3.30pm to get or renew their licenses, unfortunately, they don't do licencing after 3.30pm, so they were told to come back.There was a steady turnover of people taking their drivers licence tests.It took just under an hour for my car to get it's WOF.The staff member who talked with me about it was friendly and professional, and he said I had timed it well, as they weren't too busy.Cost for a Car WOF was $78, only $13 more than what I had been quoted for my local mechanic/service center. Happy to pay a bit more to get it done same day.Area of improvement: could have done with another person on reception. Or maybe an assigned WOF receptionist, to keep that queue ticking over quickly.Overall it was a pleasant experience, and I will definitely be going back.

Did my practical driving test today with David T, he was nice and kind he. Reception lady was lovely too. Great service!

Counter staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. However when you are standing in a queue of 10 people and every customer is asked for their email, phone number and address and if they would like an email reminder if can get very frustrating. I know this is part of their marketing success but there are times when you just need to move it along. Honestly this enough of annoyance to stop me from going here again.

Poor service, rude staff. Office hrs are until 5pm; however if you want to renew a license they only help you before 3:30. I took time of work and got there at 3:15;waited in line. Apart from me, there was one person in front of me. They ran the clock out and exacly 3:30 told me that they are not going to help me. These ppl are brutal and have no mercy or kindness

This is THE worst place to go for a restricted license , money making is all they interested. My daughter drives better than 90% of the drivers on the road yet VTNZ fails her time and time again for the most ridiculous reasons , dont even do a full test. Drive up the road and fail immediately return to base , I suggest no one goes to this place as I know of multiple people that the same thing happens to over and over , rather drive the extra distance and go somewhere else

This is my second time coming here. If you are planning to get a WOF or do whatever you need to do with VTNZ do not ever come to this branch. It is very slow and you may end up waiting for many hours. As an example it takes more than 40 minutes up-to an hour per car (the three cars in front of me) to be checked. You can easily see that staff are taking their time unreasonably, joking, having their snack, other than working. Not recommended at all. The worst VTNZ I have ever experienced in NZ and no hope for any improvement given no changes since my last visit. Good luck. Their typical response is to lodge a complaint. I did it last time and nothing happened. I am the fourth one in the queue and I am still waiting around 3 hours. What could be the excuse?

One receptionist on a busy morning. Waited in line for 30 minutes. Got to the front and told I needed to fill out a form. Filled out the required form and then back to the end of the line for more waiting.Need signs to inform people of what they need to do before getting to the front.Churrr
