Lake Tekapo Farm Tours

Super lovely tour, with Sam as our tour guide. Instead of the traditional farm tour where you only get to feed/play with the animals, Sam brings us around to different locations around the farm, or station.The farm land owned by the family is huge and we got to see how far it reaches, learn what other businesses they run, and how they make a living and support so many families through the farm land. Sam was so informative and really made the whole tour so worth it, patiently answering all our questions.Would 100% recommend if you are here and have 2-3 hours to spare, you'll learn so much and appreciate the local businesses here even more.

A must-go experience, the owner/guide Steve has done a marvellous job brining us to immerse in the vast and vibrant wild, enjoy the beauty of nature and scenes

My cousin and I did this tour a few weeks ago and we absolutely loved it! Not only was the host hilarious but the views were absolutely breathtaking! We highly recommend this farm tour! Loved feeding the animals too :)

Last minute arrangements and was incredibly satisfying. Got into higher ground for breath-taking view of Mount Cook, plant a tree, feed animals. Our guide, Sam, is knowledgeable and shared much about the sustainable development of Tekapo. Keep up the diverse development, will be back to visit.

Amazing tour, having Sam as our tour guide! He is very nice and knowledgeable, we can feel his passion and love to the nature and animals, which further influence us! The tour is more than expected, apart from visiting the stunning farm and meeting the lovely animals, we also got to know more about the Tekapo’s history and many interesting stories like the one about Mackenzie. Would definitely join the tour again and other tours from Silver River when we visit New Zealand again! Thank you so much for giving us a memorable time in Tekapo.

My wife and I came to the Cairns Resort to feed some of the beautiful farm animals when the tour operator offered to take us on the farm tour. We really enjoyed the tour and gained excellent insight into the local region’s history and ecology. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, easy going and funny. Highly recommend.

We had a day with the Lake Tekapo Farm Tours! Such a great experience. We started the day touring the farm with Steve & Sam. They were absolutely wonderful - both of them were so knowledgeable, easy going and fun to tour with. Not a dull moment! We finished the farm tour and fed a few of the sweet animals in the petting zoo (its so entertaining!). We decided to join the stargazing tour on the day itself, so we whiled away a few hours around the town. It's really picturesque, there's some nice food around as well so it's easy for the day to go by. The stargazing tour was excellent! Both our guides were so knowledgeable and I left knowing so much more about the stars. We had a different experience because it was (very nearly) a full moon so it was a little bit harder to spot some stars or capture the milky way, but.. we got to see the moon. I highly recommend both tours!

We had an incredible experience with the Lake Tekapo Farm Tours! Steve showed us around the farm, the adorable animals (whiskey the pig, Toby the little lamb, etc.) and even brought us to taste some water fresh from the stream. To cap off the tour, we had the chance to feed some of the animals. Huge thanks to Steve for his generosity and hosting such an insightful tour - we highly recommend others to try this tour!
