We came to Joe with no knowledge of the recording process, and only a very general idea of what we actually wanted to do. Joe was able to visualise a finished product in our vague ramblings, and helped us craft a piece of work far better than we'd hoped.He is very professional, very knowledgable, and a true perfectionist, continuously encouraging people to do the best they can. Ferryhill is a second home! I spend two nights a week in the studio working on my songs with Joe. Joe is a pleasure to work with & has become a good friend over the last year I have been working with him.When i first met Joe i had a back catalogue of songs id written & recorded on a little 8 track.I knew the songs had something but I was actually embarrassed by how badly they sounded when I first sat down with Joe & let him hear them. Joe was fantastic though & quickly put me at ease & within a week we had started work on recording at Ferryhill. With his tallent, skill & experience he has helped me craft my songs into something that I'm not only proud to let people hear but is soon to become a finished product that will be going on sale on iTunes.The most important thing is what Joe has helped me do with my music but he is also a continued great help to me, as a relatively inexperienced artist, in advising & guiding me in the other area's of the industry such as performing rights, marketing, publishing etc.Ferryhill Studio has been a fantastic place for me to start what I hope will be a long & successful musical journey.

I am an experienced voiceover artist that has been recording professionally for the last 14 years, from documentaries to commercials to loop group and post production sound for TV & movies. I've been into every major recording studio in Auckland and Wellington. But the missing ingredient in all those studios, that only exists at Ferryhill is..... Joe! He's an extremely talented and skilled sound engineer. A true audiophile who knows how to get the best out of professional singers and voice artists as well as novice first time Mic jockeys. Even with my experience that allows me to turn up and just rock right into it, Joe's incredible ear and ability to articulate cadence and tonal difference means he can powerfully direct, tweak and adjust my performances with clarity. For my cold reads and 'drop ins' this had made a huge difference.Most importantly with Joe on board I find it exceptionally easy to get in the groove and get on with recording quickly - and he doesn't miss a beat! I don't like to muck around and the fact that he's so quick is a major plus! Joe and Ferryhill recording are highly highly recommended! I was given Joe's information from a friend when I decided to record a Meditation CD.I found Jo very encouraging and extremely helpful especially when it came time to record. I had such a wonderful experience recording my Meditation CD. Without Jo's direction and attention to detail, this would never have happened.
