Mighty Campers - Auckland Branch

Already I am dreading having booked with this company. We were delayed on the morning departure flight to Auckland and now arriving at 1050pm. Mighty Have my money / Van booked for collection today / and tell me that they do not have in place as a Business Practice an alternative for me to collect both vechile and Keys THAT I HAVE PAID FOR... Because their operating hours are on the email they sent. !! I should have been made aware of the times by your reservation agents when making the booking.No Flight details were taken by the reservation agent. I Was advised by the Manager to ' Find overnight accommodation ' (now that we cant deliver your camper van) THAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR, to you.I will now be seeking a Department of Fair Trading both AU and NZ for refund of my one day payment. Absolutely disgusting Customer Service and will NEVER be using nor recommending this company to the my many Aviation employee friends.Stay Clear of this Company. Now reading how uncomfortable and disgusting the previous Reviewer made note, on Google Reviews has me even more concerned about what a wasted time NZ trip has been.

Unforgettable way of exploring New Zealand! We rented a Deuce 2 Berth for 2 weeks to explore both South and North Islands. Over 2,700km driven and the camper was safe, clean, comfortable, dependable, very well stocked and felt like home. THL (Mighty/Britz/Maui) made the rental process extremely easy and have a very streamlined process to pickup and return your camper as well as a helpful app with loads of useful information, from maps of available campgrounds to ‘how to’ videos detailing your specific camper’s systems. We had a wonderful time!

Very dissapointed with the complete experience. N.Z. campervan holiday was something we were looking forward to experiencing for years. Following a delay at airport, we arrived late (our problem) only to be rushed out of their yard with no guide on how things worked. The 6 birth camper we hired (just wife & I) was in a complete run down condition. Every panel was damaged in some way & the unit was filthy dirty! Overall apperaence embarrassing!First night, once we sorted out how bed was made, by morning you felt like you were sleeping on a board, as the foam seating / mattress was poor quality. When travelling on road an intermittant engine warning light would appear (service history unknown)Most important gauges in camper did not work (how much fresh water remaining & and how full grey water tank was?)First grey water dump found fitting was missing & unable to connect hose. When calling to check what to do........we were told to dump it on road as we travelled (not impressed). House lights were faulty (flashing). The concept of this holiday is absolutely rewarding, being in control of your destination. However, the quality of unit & service provided by Mighty was poor. We may come again some time in the future, but not with Mighty!Very disappointed!

Great reliable ride felt safe and clean . Handeled well on the rds.

Rented a 6 berth motorhome, picked it up from Auckland airport, where I was assisted by Liz. Liz was really friendly and was a great help. Everything went smoothly and efficiently.The vehicle I received unfortunately some mechanical and electrical problems, but compensation were made upon return of the vehicle. Vehicle conditions weren’t the best, but customer service was good. Shazia was super helpful, and of great service.

Unforgettable memories in this camper van for my 2 weeks holiday in NewZealand with my wife and son. Will definitely try it again!

Jst terrible. extremely slow service. Pickup time is 8:30-4:00, arrived depot at 8:00, checkin done at 8:30 and been told they do not guarantee when does the vehicle will be ready within 8:30-4:00 as part of their policy.Excuse me? I paid rent for today plz.Been waiting for couple hours and they still cleaning the vehicle, u will be expecting couple of hours extra wait after check in before you can pickup your vehicle and u will still be charged for the time they wasted. Gets couple hours to be wasted ready before u book with them.

We loved our Mighty Camper experience on the North Island. The truck worked very well and we had great sleeps.

Had a wonderful experience driving from South to the North Island. Van was easy to get used to and the staff were very friendly and helpful at both pick up and drop off. Bed was a good size, plenty of room for myself (5”6’) and partner (6”3’). Partner’s feet did hang off the bed a little when lying straight but plenty of space for both when he is lying diagonally. Just be aware you will likely bang your head on a few cabinets and the van does blow around a bit in the wind, which can make the drive a bit nerve wracking! Overall would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap-ish and good quality camper for a budget holiday!!
