A nice vantage point to watch the Waimakariri river flows past the Canterbury plain. A stunning place to go for a relaxing walk and view the sunset. The last kilometre of road leading to the car park is just non-asphalt surfaced. You must drive slowly with care to avoid rock chipping onto your windscreen.

Don't let a little bit of gravel road stop you enjoying this incredible piece of Christchurch. The Dog park is amazing and the river and walks are top notch, sad to see how many cyclists let their dogs run free and dont clean up after them, but otherwise you really need to get out here and enjoy this spot. Totally Awesome ... The City centre could learn a lot about being family friendly from this spot

Great place for a picnic, or take your family for a bike ride on the well made track (4.5 km loop) with gentle twist and turn, and up and down. I think it suits a three year old as well as older kids. Or you can take your trail bike for a spin on the outer track along the Waimak.

Great spot. Note the access road is gravel so yes your car will get dirty. Sad to see some people had left litter including a nappy beside the river. I found the river warm in this location. Camping ground limited to members only.
