Mount Stewart Reserve
Tracks a little slippery after rain.good view of surroundings when at the lookout. A few native birds around. No tickets to buy. Free. Just wander in when you want. Only takes ten or so minutes to get to lookout. Just a few short walking tracks and a few birds. That's it...

Challenging hike up the top of the hill, definitely worth hiking for the view on a nice day. There was one path down the back of the hill that was almost completely blocked by grass and plants as well as large roots, so I had to turn around. I recommend not taking the stairs (the path on the right), it's more hard work than it's worth.

A nice evening walk up the hill, with a bit of a view as a great reward.

Nice walk and view at the top. Was good to see some trees with I.D signage so learnt a bit as well

Nice little reserve with scenic views over the town and surrounding hills. Worth a stop, but a little muddy and steep in places.

10 mins to the top? Yeah nah, maybe 20. But a good walk and stunning view. Pity bout the plague of little bugs at the top of the tower. Someone mentioned pest-control?

native and regenerative forests to the top of the hill with a sign and lookout point at the top, rain sheltered but windy at times, good walk up the hill for best results take at least 30 minutes or more

Heading north of Taihape situated behind the iconic gumboot is a short 15 min hill climb to the tower lookout.Track is easy but beware of tree roots and can be slippery if wet so good footwear required.Native trees are tagged along the way .View at top nothing spectacular but a good rest stop before long journey.

I think the only thing that makes this a mountain is the fact its by itself as some of the hills" surrounding it are significantly larger a nice bush walk but definitely more then 10mins from the gumboot to the tower at the top."
