Great spot. Can get busy so arrive early. Toilets are right there. Shops just a short walk away. Great bays to walk along. We will return

The road you park on in on a large incline so you cant park flat... lots of midgies and mosquitoes. Very dark and a eiry feel to it..Its almost like ,,Whangamata doesn't really want freedom campers here..Beach lookout is niceWaihi beach is a far superior setup for freedom camping

Lovely spot, only 3 spaces between the permit signs so we were lucky to get the last one fairly early afternoon. Great fish & chips a 5 minute walk away.

It has a lot of space but only a few meters allowed for campervan parking. Space for 4 vehicles only. Usually full.

Worst case of ants I ever had!Stopped for one night and ants invaded the van and got into everything.I will NEVER return to this place! NOT EVER, and unless you like ants in your food, equipment and even in your bed, stay away from whangamata!

+ : Wonderful spot. Only 4 places. The sunrise is wonderful. Directly from the sea, the sun goes up in front of you.
