Their salads are great, but their sweet items are average. I think the staff or owner could be more consistent in terms of service. The person before got asked if they wanted certain items heated up and we didn't even though we bought the exact same item after them.

Super disappointed in the customer service here. My partner was so excited to try the menu and when she finally went in, the staff were rude and dismissive to her. Gave off mean girl vibes and laughed at her when she tried to make conversation with them. The whole interaction was my partner expressing her excitement and trying to make small talk and every response she got was just rude.The food was good which has really torn her because she loves that she has a plant based option in howick. But doesn’t want to go back due to her treatment.Do better.

Visited Vanilla today & tried a berry slice and banana choc loaf, both were so delicious. As someone who’s lactose intolerant with a celiac friend it was the perfect choice. Both sweet and savory options. So excited to try more bites from here!

I’ve popped in for lunch and grabbed the occasional desert. Food is good, if you can’t eat gluten the bread is a decent substitute. Great place for quality vegan deserts.

Food: exquisite, Staff: so helpful, friendly and obliging. It was pleasant sitting in the shade of the canopy on the footpath in the main street of Howick, watching the passersby and relaxing with friends. The irony of a vegan café in an old butchers shop was not lost on me. I highly commend this café if you are after good food

My favourite cafe! The best salads and hands down the BEST banana bread I have ever eaten. The staff are also always super sweet which is just the cherry on the top. One of Howicks gems!

Amazing selection of cabinet food, great coffee and some excellent menu items. The acai bowl and steak" sandwich were both delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back."

Everything is so incredibly flavourful and delicious. The fact it is plant based, gluten free, dairy free and has no refined sugars is just an added bonus. Jess is a food magician!
