Mt Taranaki Lookout
Love this place so much! I spend a lot of time at the Mangamahoe Mountain Bike park, so its nice for a change to walk around the lake. Walked with the team from Snap Fitness Gym (New Plymouth) for the I Am Hope charity walk, the weather was perfect which made the view AMAZING!

On this occasion My Taranaki was covered by cloud (it often is) but from the photo you can see on a clear day a beautiful view. Enjoyed the walk around the entire lake.

About 10 minutes walk from the car park at the base. Lush trees along the way that will lead you to spectacular views at the top. Mount Taranaki is visible on a clear day. Has a bench overlooking the the lake and the mountain as well.

Parking is at Lake Mangamahoe, big parking area. Is an easy walk from carpark to the lookout area where you get awesome view of Mt Taranaki on cloud free day.

A must to do in life. We did clim uo to Zone 2. We ran out of water, yet, helpfull staff at stop staion 2 gave us plenty of water. Take at a lot of water if u plan making a tour

Mt Taranaki Lookout is the easiest way to have the picturesque views of the beautiful mountain. It is a painter's paradise, because you get the scenic combination of the mountain, water and the surrounding trees. It is a perfect place for children to ignite the passion for drawings.Reaching there may be confusing the first time because the Google maps location is not accurate. Just drive till the road ends and walk towards the right hilly area.
