I read some other post indicating people from out-of-town would be treated worse...Well with my German accent it is very obvious I come from far out of town and my experience with Kaitaia Auto Electrical is nothing else than positive! I have an old 2003 VW Golf that didn´t want to start properly anymore and nobody else in town was able to scan the onboard computer. It took Chris just a few minutes to do the scan, check the scan result (broken airflow meter) and make me a quote for replacement. Only after the successful repair I knew he had been spot-on and what impressed me most: He said from the beginning the repair itself would only be a 15 minute job and he did indeed only charge me 20 NZD for labour! Very competent, very fair! Forget about that alien conspiracy....

Kta mds used to be absolutely terrible. They got alot better after a facebook rant went viral and the whole town got in on it. They have now gone back to terrible. Consistently mucking up orders, poorly cooked food, terrible presentation, terrible customer service, terrible frontline staff.... management needs to step up their game.

I needed to have my Lexus starter motor repaired urgently, as I wanted to visit my terminally ill brother. This was the only company who understood my position, and even offered a same day service. Fantastic service, price was fine, I was deeply grateful.

Have been towed here to do a starter replacement.Was done fine, but when Chris tried to turn on the car, he simply destroyed the ignition.My car has two set of keys, one for lock one for ignition. He obviously used the wrong one, because wasn't listening properly when I explained which key was for what.Finally, destroyed even more the ignition so the key can fit in it (well, a spoon can turn on my car, now...).Also, the key for the lock was also destroyed so I needed it to be repaired, at my own expense obviously.The guy is rude, dishonest and won't listen any advice you would give because as a mechanic, well you're not suppose to know more.Bonus, ladies will not be listened because, you know ... Men.
