Awful food - but clean. There is no love for food here. The burgers are nasty. The meat patties are unfinishable. The chips are burnt. The Chinese food is an insult all things Chinese. A Mum n Dad operation where they work hard, shovel it on the wok or fryer but don't actually give a monkey's about taste. The son occasionally works the till and cannot hide his disdain for the customers. They takes your money and offer little in return. Avoid. Hillsborough still lacks a decent takeaway. Extra point if you can tell which 5-star reviews were done by the owner's kid (?). I'm saying all of them. #fakenews

These guys are phenomenal, their Bami Goreng is divine, their Sweet and Sour pork is phenomenal..! Their Chow Mein is great. Honestly they’re so underrated it’s unbelievable. I moved out of Auckland a few years ago, but I always go here when I’m back. I’m moving back soon, and they will be the first dish I eat. They’re a humble family earning their keep, and they’re worth supporting, so get amongst!

I like my chips a little more cooked than other fish and chip shops. I like this so the chips arent soggy and you get little crunchies" even after a 15min drive home. These chips still taste fresh and well cooked. Not so dry that you choke on them when you eat the potato. I've also found one lot is enough for two people... I could go on though. The portion sizes are fantastic

I love the Chinese couple running the place. I practice my Chinese with them sometimes. They have convenient parking out front. They make your order fast and fresh. Really authentic flavours and just so clean tasting. Makes you feel less guilty about eating take aways. My favourites and the wontons and the combo fries rice. Good price for good portions too.

Lovely big portions. Sweet and Sour Pork was delicious, Chicken Chow Mein and Beef Fried Rice were beautiful. Well worth the price. Definitely recommended.

The fish and chips here are average but the burgers and won tons are great (not the deep fried ones the soup ones). The chief told me the patties and the meat of the won tons are handmade, which is why they taste so much better then the other chinese takeaways Me and my mates have been too. I would recommend getting the won ton soup and the egg burger you can't go wrong with that order.

Good chicken fried rice, I had asked for it to be spicy. But it wasn't at all. There should also but some seasoning or some sauce that adds to the flavour of the chicken fried rice. But if you're looking for chinese takeaways in hillsborough this is the place to go.

We have been ordering Chinese food from Hilltop for about 3 years. Lovely couple running the place, always super quick service. Best dishes we get are the wantons, sweet & sour pork and chicken chow mien. Highly recommend if your in Hillsborough area

The special fried rice is terrible- Gluggy rice with blobs of soy sauce, little bit peas, very dry chicken and only 3 shrimp, although on the menu it says prawns. sorry we won't go back again.
