Stargazers Astronomy Tours & B&B

The wet weather didn’t dampen our delight in this place.Harriet and Alistair were wonderful hosts - so very interesting and very helpful in suggesting places to visit/ routes to take.The house was immaculate and the breakfast beautifully presented and delicious too.Our knowledge of astronomy has significantly increased since our evening spent in the observatory!

Had a great experience. Would have loved to see some planets too but the universe has control of such matters! Didn't stay there so cannot comment on accommodation.

This review is for the astronomy tour only; we would have loved to stay here but was already booked up by the time we found it and for good reason! The lodge is nestled into the hills and we weren’t sure what to expect walking up to the property. Alastair greeted us excitedly upon our arrival to see the rings on Saturn. His back patio is situated with its own sort of planetarium with a huge scope in an enclosed dome. We saw some planets, galaxies, different types of stars and constellations, as well as a satellite. Alastair is so enthusiastic about astronomy which made the tour really incredible. He also has a very impressive collection of different objects in his lab. We got a wee peek of the B&B while on the tour and it looked really beautiful with incredible woodwork and great art. Would love to come back sometime!

If you’re interested in space, you must join the tour definitely. The guide and the host of the stargazing tour Alastair was a nice passionate man.When we visited, moon was little too bright, so hard to see many stars but still it was beautiful. We saw clear Jupiter through the scope.The tour took about 2.5 hours. You should prepare comfortable shoes and a warm jacket. And be careful of winding road driving in the night if you’re not staying the B&B.

Astronomy at its best. Excellent high powered telescope. Host Alistair Brickell was highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic while able to explain complex science in simple terms.

Really interesting tour, especially the part looking out the telescope. Alastair is a very enthusiastic guide, but that enthusiasm got the best of him as the tour was very very long. We arrived at 8:45 pm and didn’t leave until after 11:00.An hour less - perhaps without the time in his office talking about the moon landing etc - would have been perfect.

We had a lot of fun, the guide has a lot of knowledge and fun facts to tell, and things to show. Very professionnel, I recommend this tour! Thank you

Incredible. Alister and Harriette are lovely hosts, very knowledgeable about space and the local area. We stayed in the main house and got an astronomy tour, as well as daily breakfast. The breakfast was simple yet delicious. The rooms were lovely and spacious. The tour and viewing through the telescope was the best part - highly recommended for science/space enthusiasts. Definitely coming back here.FYI: when following Google maps, you would have to follow the road for another 200m from the destination point on the map, entry on the left hand side of the road.

Awesome fabulous. The hosts are fabulous. Put on your bucket list. The tour is fabulous and the breakfast are awesome.
