Rainbow Motel & Hot Pools Turangi
If you're going to Turangi, or passing through, Rainbow motel is a great little place to stop at. Very warm, with comfortable beds, excellent shower pressure, large clean rooms & thermal hotpool thrown in ! Bede the prop was very friendly and hospitable. I would definitely return !!!

A well located motel for what we needed. The staff we met were super nice and welcoming.Only one large oil fin heater in the two bedroom apartment which meant it was a bit chilly, and I wonder how you would stay warm in the middle of winter (we stayed in April). Comfortable beds but no comfortable chairs to sit and watch telly or chat.The hot pool that was hot, was not overly clean but was fine for a quick soak.Overall, it had good space, was fine for what we needed, has some nice upgrades but also screams potential.

This was a great little find! Quiet and feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere but just 5 mins from Turangi. Owner was super lovely and helpful, rooms had everything we needed including an outdoor picnic table. The rooms also had fans which was much appreciated!There was a BBQ available for guests to use too. The outdoor hot pools are awesome, there are 4 with different temperatures and they’re private. One even has a view out to the paddocks. Such a great spot!!

We travelled to Marton for a wedding,by the time we got to Taupo I was exhausted so we rang rainbow motel in turangi and booked last minute.The Manager was amazing!!Room was clean,well equipped.Only point I would say was that the room had an overpowering smell of cleaning chemicals which meant i had to wipe all the bench downstairs and we had door open for a while and it was freezing that night.Thermal pool was lovely added bonus! Thank you we will definitely be back.

Rainbow Motel & Hot Pools Turangi
We had a very nice stay. There is a new thermal bore, so the hot pools are working again, and are very relaxing. Our room was tidy, well set up, the beds were comfortable and there was an excellent shower. The radiator heaters were not fully up and running but there was an oil heater that did the job.

Rooms are very nice and the lady who owns/runs the place was fabulous, Nothing was too much trouble.Place is a little rough around the edges but overall a great place to stay. I would definately book there again even though it is 4 km out of town

Rainbow Motel & Hot Pools Turangi
This motel is fantastic. I love it and have stayed on a number of occasions. The suites are comfortable and you can cook in the kitchen and eat in the dining / living room. The rooms are really warm with geothermal radiators - really toasty. The hot pools are a wonder and you can lie in them of an evening looking up at the Tokaanu sky. Perfect. I can’t wait to get back there.

We loved our stay here in our newly renovated cabin. Very clean and tidy. Yet still retains character of old fashioned kiwi motel that we grew up with. Peaceful with only 8 cabins. The private thermal pools are great: especially the one with views out over the fields. Very friendly helpful staff. Will be coming back!

Rainbow Motel & Hot Pools Turangi
Highly recommended. The place had everything we needed, very spacious and clean. The hot pool was beautiful and relaxing. Owner was super friendly and helpful - even let us charge our Tesla there overnight. Very reasonably priced and great location - close to the attractions in Tongariro/Turangi. I’ll definitely book again next time I visit here.
