We were intrigued by this place because of all the wonderful reviews. True enough, it does live up to all the positive comments! We were blown away by the food—garlic naan, Indian style butter chicken, chicken garlic tikka and dal makhani—and the service! Sherry was a lovely host. Everything tasted amazing. This place is now a favourite in Wellington!

On a trip to Wellington, I had to check out this Indian to see if the reviews were true. The positive reviews don't do Ruchi justice, this without a doubt is the best Indian restaurant in New Zealand, the food is devine, Sherry is an amazing host, we were made to feel like part of his family. Sherry is so warn, inviting and friendly, the food is so good, words don't do it justice. Anyone looking for exceptional food, great friendly service, you simply have to try Ruchi.My only complaint, if you can call it that, is I have to travel from Christchurch to dine here, Sherry if you ever want to relocate, please please please come to Christchurch.

Cute and compact restaurant with very friendly and personable service. Food was quick to come out and tasted great. Portions were as expected. The roti came out closer to a naan and not like the western recognised layered butter bread.

We’ve been on the hunt for a good Indian restaurant since moving to NZ. We found it!The flavours in the dishes are fantastic. The amount of meat in your dish surpasses other restaurants we’ve been to. Most importantly you can tell good spices and ingredients have been used when you don’t have the dreaded msg kick overnight. To top it off Sherry’s customer service is on point.

Absolutely delicious food - The tandoori chicken and lamb biryani was the best we've ever had. Really great service as well; he was cheerful, accomodating and just a pleasure be served by. Definitely recommend!

So impressed with the service it this Indian restaurant. Sherry was a delightful host who was able to accommodate for our dietary needs (keto). I had a keto curry and cauliflower rice which was 10/10. Can't wait to go back again. A heads up to book in advance as this place is popular. They also have a heat wall with people who have completed the 7x indian hot curry.

Just got some takeaway now, ordered online and picked up. While I appreciate online order facilities, the food is disappointing. Ordered butter chicken and made a special request on the notes asking for extra mild, still spicy… Also very small serving with plenty of sauce and very little chicken, for almost $24.We also ordered the garlic naan bread…pretty sure this bread is from yesterday, instead of soft and doughy is flat and hard as a stone, really difficult to eat. What a shame, I am really surprise with the good reviews.Will not order again.

Excellent Chef special Nawabi chicken and dessert is yummy. Sherry is a good bloke and cares about his clients. Highly recommend the chef special dishes and getting to know him
