A lovely short walk through an amazing variety of vegetation. Gorgeous kahikatea, grasses, and fuchsia forest. Enchanting walk.

Nice and easy walk though its much like a mangrove forest that is common in southeast asia (only animals were crabs) so might not be worth the detour from haast to ships creek. Maybe during season will have more birds

Hapuka Estuary Walk
Stunning short walk, but it'll take you longer than 20 min because you're stopping and listening to the birds. Early morning walk there was a highlight of our time here.

Hapuka Estuary Walk
A nice little walk, took me around 10-15 minutes at a casual pace. The information boards are really interesting, too which made a nice change. Such a nice little place to visit. Much of the walk is board walk with some more natural paths and other wooden viewing platforms. Would be so beautiful on a clear day. Be aware, the walk is almost immediately after the turn off from the main highway. I didn't see the DOC sign and ended up driving quite a bit past the walk before I realised!

Hapuka Estuary Walk
Easy, short walk suitable for everyone. Although short, you will pass through three different vegetation zones ~ wetland estuary, tussock fields and a rain forest. So amazing!!

Disappointing lack of estuary life, perhaps we struck an off day.
