Affordable Taxis - Waitakere

Affordable Taxis seems to be one of the very few low cost cab services still operating in Auckland, as many have closed down. My call was answered promptly by a friendly operator and taxi arrived within estimated timeframe given (15 - 20 minutes). The driver's name was Junior" who is awesome

Was ABIT hard to get a driver but once I did he was awesome

Just had the best taxi driver come and collect a lost gentleman trying to get to the hospital from our business - JLT was his rego. Thank you for looking after the elderly gentleman today band dropping him off at the hospital.

Driver was super rude. Dropped me of on the side of the road instead of my driveway. I asked if he could go up my driveway as it has a bit of a hill. He said no walk even after mentioning im pregnant. Only accepted cash, I gave him a 50 note and goes this is to much for my $15 ride and complained about it. Absolutely disgusting behaviour! AI DONT RECOMMEND

I am nearly in tears after being told it would be $50 to get home and then being charged $60. I was trying to get an Uber as I know taxis are more expensive and this driver called out to me on the road and had Uber on his phone. I showed him what the other Uber was going to charge me ($47). Very expensive as it was after Friday jams so I understand that. He originally said $60 and then when I said I couldn’t afford that he said to stay in the car and he would do $50 and was quite intimidating about it. Then when we arrived at my house on a quiet street where I was alone he said it would be $60 because there was some traffic. I never write reviews but I feel very taken advantage of and conned out of my money. And would not want to be in this situation again. I’m frustrated I didn’t take down his licence plate.

Use this company at your peril. Despite booking a mobility taxi days in advance and being confirmed twice, the taxi never showed. It was needed for an essential doctor's appointment. Phoned them twice on the day and asked when the taxi would turn up and was assured it would arrive. Five minutes before the doctor's appointment I phoned back only to be told the taxi had broken down and they were sending a car instead which was unsuitable for a wheelchair! Ended up cancelling the doctor's appointment which was vital as a flu vaccine was needed for a geriatric. I took a day off and lost pay over this dreadful unprofessional company. When I asked why we hadn't been phoned and alerted about the alleged breakdown was told they didn't have our contact phone numbers. This is the first company I've heard of which doesn't record phone numbers against their bookings. We were waiting 45 minutes on a cold winter's day and the wheelchair bound patient was in the cold. Awful experience.We now think this patient has gone on to develop the flu.

Booked a van at a great price and the driver was so lovely about it all. Then it went downhill. We were charged more because the driver drove off after not being able to make contact with us. There was no attempt to find the address properly, he arrived half an hour before asked to, then drove off after stating he could not see anyone. Only texted me to advise, but never made an attempt to ring and sounded annoyed with me on the phone. I reluctantly paid the extra so that my family could check in to the airport on time to make a recovery flight home.

At Lynn Mall this morning I watched one of your drivers assist a very elderly man, with getting into his taxi. The man was slow, but the driver showed patience to him.He put the man's shopping and wheels" into the boot and off they went.I didn't manage to get the licence plate number

New to this. I was booking uber then a taxi arrived I said gosh that was quick. You uber? I am going to Kumeu fare 42.10. I was told to sit at the back. She was following her GPS going ways I thought were too long. I checked a couple more times saying uber put it on my credit card, the fare is 42.10. She carried on and I had to tell her no not that way and direct her. At the end of the ride she told me it was 72.00 I said but uber take out of my credit card, and it was $42.10. Then she said well actually it was $83 see this is a cab. I am on a tight budget that is why I uber which uses cabs. and I now use buses as well and try to keep costs down. I told her repeatedly that the fare was 42.10 and uber. I was starting to get concerned when she drove according to her GPS many km out the way. She did not seem to take much notice of my instructions. You said but its not fair on me. I told her she needs to listen, it was absolutely unfair on me. I paid her $60 instead of the 42.10 I had expected. If I couldnt get a fare in the right price range I would bus closer with my new hop card I had showed her my card and I told her this is what I do.to manage while travelling. No way would I have knowingly got in a cab for even $60 I would have checked the fare was capped at least. Even if $60 is a good deal my budget is tight. I felt upset and furious taken for a ride.

Driver Raj 41Shirt open to the navel,Did not wear mask,Did not wear seatbelt,Tried to take me the long way,Pumped the accelerator all the lime like we were a learner driver that is bunny hopping.Does not take eftpos or Credit Card.Worst taxi ride in my life, this driver should not be on the road.
