Affordable Car Rentals

Car was functional and I got the rental within 24 hours of booking (late notice), but I returned the car with the tank 90% full instead of 100% full and they tried to tell me the tank was not even 3/4 full and charge an excessive amount for petrol on top of the fees they indicated up front. Decent place if you don't mind following every single rule exactly, but mess one thing up and get ready to pay a lot. Save your hassle and money and rent from the airport instead, it's usually cheaper for a nicer car too.

Affordable Car Rentals were just as the name says. Their service was wonderful too picking us up at the airport and dropping us back. The car itself was modern and clean and drove really well. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.

Organised rental from home (Hawke's Bay) with all paperwork done remotely. On arrival in Christchurch phoned them and they duly turned up with our rental and took us back to their depot. Ran through the car's controls and we were on our way. No fuss and easy to get on with. Pleased we chose a people mover for four adults rather than an SUV as it had much more room. Same thing on return - all simple and easy (except we'd been picked up for speeding (6ks over limit downhill!) so had a small fine to pay later. All good - car was great, whole process was straightforward - cost less than others - so recommend

Car was a good vehicle for our three week stay in NZ - Honda Fit Hybrid, which saved us significantly in petrol. Well-maintained and drove well.

Really positive experience, rented for two weeks over Xmas 2020-21 period - cars went well. Initially there was an issue with my booking however Cade sorted it straight way on the day and it was hassle free. Pick-up and drop off was a breeze. Will use again when renting from Christchurch.

Fantastic experience with Affordable Car rentals for our 2 week hire. John and the team were a breeze to deal with, and doing all the paperwork via email before we arrived in NZ made it even easier. Our car was top notch and was dropped at our hotel before we arrived, and they also came and collected it from our hotel - this made for a brilliant stress free start and finish to our NZ visit.
