The Animal Ark Dunedin

Loved the animals but was expensive. Adults and kids of all ages paid the same price. And considering children are welcome to explore the farm, the staff was incredibly rude throughout the whole experience.

Super fun and loving place for animals. Kelly and Stu are the nicest people. All the animals are rescues and they take such good care of every single one. They will go anywhere in NZ to get new rescues and provide them a chance at a great life. I love the fact you can feed and pet these amazing creatures and all the money through admission and feed goes back into helping the animals. Definitely a great place for families or anyone who loved animals.

My Mum and I decided to revisit our childhoods last Sunday and we visited the Animal Ark. It was lovely, many friendly animals to be petted and fed with the provided pellets. I also noticed picnic tables set up. The lady we who took our fee was very nice and helpful. Lots of happy families there interacting with the animals. All of the animals looked fit and healthy, definitely recommend this as a place to visit whether or not you have kids!

This place is a true asset to Dunedin. Well set up. Owners who clearly adore the animals and lovely stories behind each furry face and how they came to live with them.

Loads of friendly animals with lots of personality. You'll leave with a happy heart

I haven't personally visited, but my 3-year-old just did, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He tells me there were lambs who didn't talk, and donkeys who did, but shouldn't because they were so loud. Also goats with horns and goats without horns. The goats with horns were not keen for food, the goats without horns were. There was a little little baby horsey who he liked to feed, and a big horsey who liked to be fed by the adults. He also claims there were ostriches, which everyone else apparently misidentified as emus (but he knows better). There was a baby ostrich called a turkey who couldn't get into the ostrich enclosure, so the big ostriches really should have opened the gate for it.

Lovely outing, kids enjoyed seeing all the different animals and feeding them. We were given bags of pellets to feed some of the animals and were able to buy more. There are picnic tables which would be perfect for a picnic on a sunny day. There's also a playground.
