We have worked with Scott on two of our building projects - the first was to renovate our family home and more recently to design a new beach house for our family in the Coromandel. We were looking for someone to design a scheme involving the subdivision of our property, a new house for us and another house on the property, for us to sell. Scott came highly recommended by local people in the industry, as he has been involved with this type of development before. This turned out to be a godsend as we found that it takes an enormous amount of knowledge to navigate the Council’s maze of rules and regulations.Scott also has a valuable network of engineers and consultants at hand, to work in conjunction with him, to keep the project moving. Because of the relationship Scott has with them, he is able to get prompt action and responses from them. Scott also likes to work at a fast pace, so nothing takes too long! In my experience, this is not the norm for most project managers!We are very excited by the design that Scott has come up with for us. After our initial discussions he came back with a design that was so right that it basically never changed. It did evolve with minor tweaks and further input from both us and Scott, but they were refinements only. We approached Scott Fowler to design us a reasonably priced bach at Matapōuri Beach.Scott patiently listened to our requirements and came up with a very elegant simple design that suited the site, our budget and brief perfectly.We were delighted to see it feature in a local home design magazine.The longer we have the house the more we appreciate the design, how it works with the site and how it enhances weather patterns in the north.Attention to detail is something Scott is very concerned about. He was able to anticipate potential stumbling blocks, co-ordinating with various consultants and manage through the consenting process. We were looking for a site to build a holiday home on at Langs Beach and we thought we had found one suitable ,when we first started talking with Scott. After some initial calculations he worked out that the view from that site could eventually be built out if the old house in front was re-built. There was another site high up on an adjacent hill that we were initially a bit sceptical of. Scott convinced us to take a leap of faith that we have never looked back on. What he designed for us is outstanding and we are absolutely over the moon happy with it.Sometimes you just have to trust that the professionals your employing are making the right decisions, even if it’s a bit outside your comfort zone.The whole build process was relatively straight forward with local builders . As Scott was able to guide us through all of the many processes involved in a project of this nature.The project remained on budget and within a very reasonable time frame which was again due to Scotts years of experience. He always knew what the next process was that would potentially delay the following one. Which probably saved us months getting things off the ground. We enjoyed working with Scott and highly recommend him.
