Fantastic experience, Jack was super helpful with advice on what to do and where to go, very knowledgeable and happy to accommodate in any way 10/10We also caught a glimpse of a pod of dolphins in the bays which made it even better

I’ve rented a ‘yak from Jack twice now and would certainly recommend it. There is free parking and you can pay by cash or bank transfer. I rented an open top which tracked well through the waves. There are some wheels so you can wheel it 50m from the rental place to the boat ramp.

I cannot recommend this business more highly! They were far more affordable than anywhere else in the area, as well as being super helpful, friendly, flexible and great communicators. Additionally, they were more than happy to work to our schedule and needs.We hired kayaks from HBC Watercraft Hire in order to do the Puhoi river over Easter weekend. It was a last minute adventure and no other kayak hire places were open, or willing to hire to us just for one day. Jack from HBC was not only super friendly and accommodating, he also offered to shuttle our group from one end of the river to the other for a low additional cost. He was more than happy to meet us at 6:30 am on the day to drop off the kayaks (as that was when high tide was). He also gave us great local recommendations of what to do, and because of his suggestion we ended up kayaking over to Waiwera Beach (which ended up being our favourite part of the trip!)I would definitely hire from them again! Really recommend hiring kayaks from HBC watercraft. Jack is a sound guy who gives lots of helpful local knowledge on where to catch fish, where best to kayak and he is super accommodating on which beach to go to. The kayaks are good quality and the prices are very reasonable too

Epic service, with safe vessels and life jackets provided, this is the perfect day out for all levels of experience and fitness.My 13 year old son and I began our journey after meeting the effervescent Jack and his steady kayaks at the Puhoi Pub. Paddling leisurely with the current, we took our time meandering down a quiet river to soak in some incredible views.From the quaint, historical homes of Puhoi that dot the riverbank, under the towering Northern Gateway motorway structures, then through gentle twists and turns of the river, the trip took us just under two hours at our snail's pace. The river eventually widens to become a sparking blue basin where you reach your destination at the Wenderholm boat ramp.Jack was waiting to meet us at the ramp to hoist the kayaks on to the waiting trailer and shuttle us back to our car parked at the pub.Fabulous service and equipment, we will definitely be using HBC watercrafts again with family and friends in the future!

I've hired kayaks from jack on multiple occasions and they've always been great! Jack spends the time to provide great advise and make sure you are set for a good trip. There are also a variety of kayaks to select from, hands down best kayak hire in town!

Jack is a super friendly and accomodating guy - he sorted me out a great evening on a fishing kayak ! He walked me down to the beach with the kayak and told me the best spots around the area which probably was the only reason I managed to catch a couple of fish ! ( definitley wasn't my fishing skills). The kayak was great with multiple rod holders and even a net for an easy catch. I will defo be back again - it was 100% worth the ride up from Parnell !
