Perched on the top of the Waitakerie range this mast is visible from most of Auckland. Since the Sky Tower was built the number of Radio and Television stations broadcasting from the tower has reduced.Currently looking like it is in need of a bit of maintenance.

The television/radio mast at 539 Scenic Drive, Waiatarua in the Waitakere ranges in the west of Auckland is the location of a well known local landmark.The Freeview UHF terrestrial service is transmitted to many areas in Auckland. FM radio services used to be transmitted but these were transferred to the Auckland Sky Tower.Come see a historic local landmark and take in wonderful views over most of Auckland from nearby Parkinson's lookout on your way to or from Piha or if you are just going for a drive along the wonderful Scenic Drive.

It was closed off but I remember years ago being able to go up to it and see the incredible view it has of Auckland
