Such a quick side trip and it was amazing how the temp was so much cooler in forest than parking lot. I could see my breath in forest as I was looking down trail and could see car I'd just parked in 75° F parking lot. Beautiful beach area also. Very private experience with no other visitors while we were there...

This a brilliant short walk on a lovely shady trail through some beautiful forrest. The walk ends up on the beach so you can turn round and go back or head along the beach. Neat little car park off the highway for hassle free parking too.

Mananui Bush and Beach Walk
(March 2018) everyone should stop here if they are able to walk 10 minutes each way to the beach along a gorgeous jungle footpath. The beach is gorgeous and it is quiet as well! Only a few people were here. The drift wood is AMAZING ! Truly a natural marvel. And also great seating to keep out of the sand. Good for kids to run up and down the beach as well. One kid even brought his tiny little bicycle on the path. Not much parking is the only downside.

Great small walk to the beach through some thick native bush. Excellent place to stretch your legs on the way down to the glaciers or on the way up to Hokitiki. Not the biggest parking area so you may not be able to get a good park if it’s busy

Perfect little walk to recharge your batteries. Beautiful bush setting with a fabulous beach reveal! Ideal for young kids. Watch out for the rather bold and cheeky fantails by the flax bushes!!

Good 10 minutes walk through bush to beach where we had been alone, big waves maybe too cold wind but still wonderful times, nice place to visit and maybe build a castle from sand or play with drift wood, but mostlikely is clean. Good chill, place to just rest

Cute little walk, which we did in light rain. 15-20 minutes return, through the bush and then the flax to the beach.
