We had lunch from this place after our nature cruise. We had pizzas. To be honest they were not that great. The base of the pizzas were not that good either. They don’t make their own pizza bases, they use the frozen ones, we confirmed that from the staff. The pizza was super oily and felt very greasy. They were not worth the price that we paid. We had pizzas and drinks. We were super hungry so had those but wouldn’t recommend it nor will try that again from the same place. We didn’t have anything else from this place, so don’t know what’s their speciality.

Chose the trading rooms due to the diverse menu, maybe in hindsight that should have been a red flag. I ordered the vegetarian pasta which was literally tinned spaghetti with a few sliced zucchini thrown in. Partner ordered the duck which was dry. Service was below average and the restaurant was cold. Cocktail was ok, otherwise I would give a one star.

I can't comment about their Thai (see end of comment though) but don't buy their pizzas. It appears to be a store brought base, smothered in something like store brought sauce, cheap ends of chorizo and ham and then a huge covering of ordinary cheese on the top. You couldn't pick it up by your hand because the sauce gushed out everywhere. Even my homemade pizza is superior to this. The only reason I am leaving this negative review is because my daughter commented after I was tell her about this. She and her husband went there about New Years and had a different pizza but the same experience. They did say the duck curry from the Thai menu was lovely. Perhaps they need to stick to their hero menu and remove the pizza menu.

Our Akaroa trip turned disaster. Waited 1 hour for our food, even the drinks not served. Thought we should ask how long it will take. Then the waiter said when he served the pizza and drinks there was nobody on the table, and said that we gave the wrong table number which was just next to us. (We did say 2 table numbers as we had big family) We did not see him bring pizza and drinks to the table next to us. So he lied. Then he came back and said, he did put the order, the pizza is made. We waited and went inside to ask how long will it take. To our surprise, the order was not put thru in the kitchen. Another 30mins passed, waiter came back and said, the kitchen is still serving 2 more tables then it will be our turn. Whaaat??!!!! It is common sense, we waited long enough and they forgot our order , and they want us to wait until the next 2 tables are served when we came long before them. 2 hours waiting for food, then the waiter came, served the chips for the children. Waiter came again telling us they are making the pizza and will take some time to wait, do we still want to wait or cancel our order? VERY UNPROFFESIONAL. They asked us if we want to cancel. So we cancelled our pizzas and left. Not even an apology from the waiter. We will never dine here again.

Menu had a good variety to choose from. Staff very friendly.Lovely outdoor dining over looking the Harbour.Toilets could not with a revamp.I decided to have Sweet and Sour Pork. The lovely waitress asked if I had tried a Sweet and Sour Beef. This was something I wouldn't of thought about , so I said why not and ordered this dish. I found it very much to my liking. Certainly would order it again.

We ordered Big breakfast and pancakes. The 2 meals took a long time to come out. The breakfast was Luke warm, one egg was hard cooked, the mini sausages tasted like they were over best by date. The pancakes were average. The service was terrible, slow and she really didn’t represent the business very well. The place was more or less empty so I’m not sure why it took so long to get our food. It was such a lovely spot, a real pity but I probably wouldn’t go there again.

We had a positive experience at The Trading Room Experience. We found a seat without any reservations. We did not have to wait long for our orders to be taken. Our meals did not take long and they were delicious. They had outside seating which was nice. We had Thai food for lunch good portions except rice quantity was less. The restaurant was busy and most of the outside seating was occupied.

Stopped here for lunch while in Akaroa..it was fantastic. The food was exceptional and the service friendly and efficient. I had the Kiwi Burger, which was delicious. Others in our group had Pizzas, seafood chowder, Samosas and Cheesy garlic bread. It was an excellent meal in a fantastic location. Would recommend it to anyone. We'll certainly be going back. Msdeca fantastic day even better.

We didn’t mean to book here but I accidentally called the wrong place. We decided to proceed anyways.The food was well portioned but too expensive and you have to pay extra for rice, ultimately making me feel like we didn’t get value.The staff were poorly dressed, wearing track pants and sliders. They were quite loud in animated conversation between each other, taking away from the ambience of the restaurant. I would not come back here.
