Absolutely shocked by the dismal amount of chips, $85 order, 5 scoops and 3 under 8 year olds ran out of chips, very well cooked,but very disappointed with the quantity

Having lived in the area for over a year and hearing how great the fish and chips are here, I thought it was time I tried them. I ordered a scoop of chips and spring roll. I found a bonus corn pattie in my package, but ssshhh, don't tell everyone! Lovely touch even if it was a mistake. I can honestly say they are the best I've ever had. They were cooked perfectly and weren't greasy at all and I didn't have that horrible blah feeling after eating them. Highly recommend and I'll be back.

This has been our favourite fish and chip shop since it opened, always beautifully cooked and delicious fish and chips. Haven't been for a while but went last week and was surprised to see it under new ownership. I wish them well but this time the batter was heavy and greasy, the orange roughly not as beautifully tender and flakey as usual and the chips were soggy, not at all crispy. I hope this was a one off and the magic touch that the previous owners had, has not been lost.

It’s really nice that the ohoka/mandeville area has finally gotten a good fish and chips shop, it certainly beats driving all the way to kaiapoi or rangiora. Fish is always really tasty, fresh and cooked well. Chips are always seasoned well and you can’t moan about the prices. Staff are very lovely, the only gripe I have with this place is that it only opens during certain days of the week and during the night time.

Best Gluten Free fish and chips in NZ. We have recently travelled up through the North Island and couldn't find anything that even came close. Their light and crispy batter is delish. So good that they are cooked separately. for people with coeliac. Keep up the great work.

Just moved in up the road, urgent take away required while moving in. We got deep fried brilliance, with no messing with burgers and the like. Chips fish sausage and mighty good doughnuts.We've been back twice more since

OK so your wife, mistress or Girlfriend is not one you want to risk being seen with. But is willing enough for Netflix and Chill.Nice simple take aways they get busy and don't do burgers but it is a good fish and chip shop.Good enough for the girl I dated anyway.Bonus is the deep fried sausage for the dog, he does not judge the girl as long as they give him food... Unless they smell funny, then he gives me a sad judgy look.

I use to rave about this place but sadly over time the food quality & quantity has continued to decline & tonight's meal was the last straw for my family after waiting 45mins only for it to taste terrible, this saddens me as I do find their customer service really good over all.Nowhere near enough chips in the scoops & all food very much over-cooked.The last 2 times I asked for extra chicken salt & got none at all.I generally don't post negative reviews but I don't want others to travel to the only fish & chop shop in the area only to be dissapointed.
