Va Bene
We have had it now twice that we have made a booking at Va Bene, received a confirmation email and turned up to a closed restaurant with no one in sight. This was quite disappointing as we had a very positive experience when Va Bene first opened.

Beautiful food, delicious drinks and lovely service! Such hospitable staff and a quick turn around time. The atmosphere is awesome, it’s a really beautiful space too. Could not recommend more!!

Me and a friend came here for Mochas to warm up on a cold day. Despite the cafe next door being closed (owned by the sane people), the staff popped next door to make us drinks, and even bought us some marshmallows and biscuits! Very nice staff, and very yummy mochas. Would come back!

This is a zombie restaurant - no diners, no staff, no food.We were the only customers when we arrived at 7.30, and if it had just been two of us we would turned around at the door, but we were in a group of four and all too polite.They were not serving at least a quarter of their dishes, including two of their feature meals. We ordered entrees, and i kid you not, it took an hour for them to arrive. And only two of the four were what we ordered. The cheese on toast was the pick of them. The oysters (a free replacement) were decidedly dodgy looking, and in the context of how utterly shambolic they were, they weren’t worth the risk.The waitress was very pleasant and apologetic, but actually turns out she didn’t work there, she was only filling in. We felt embarrassed for her - mostly what she brought to us was bad news and free drinks.The food, when it finally arrived, was very unremarkable. We speculated that the unseen people out the back had scooted down to the local supermarket to pick up some ready to heat meals.Collectively we’ve been to hundreds of restaurants and cafes in our lives. This was the most inept, incompetent and irredeemably bad dining experience any of us could remember. It was hilarious in a very sad way.Disregard the positive reviews, get to va bene before they deservedly close.Va bene means go well. They would be better named va pronto - go quickly. The sooner the better.

I was interested to dine although when ask for a bar stool with a back it was declined there were many high backed bar stools available. I was a single diner, I wanted to feel more comfortable and safe so I would not fall back and I was not welcomed at all. You said you just opened 2 weeks ago and to decline a perfectly reasonable request is not in your best interest. I actually rarely take the time to write reviews as I too am a restaurateur and understand service. I went to 46 & York they had the best service and were very accommodating I spent A a lot $$ please take a leaf from their service. Good luck.

The new dinner platters were amazing, I recommend the pork and the beef ! Also had an amazing espresso martini during happy hour. Would definitely recommend trying out the new menu

Friendly staff and accommodating.Food were yum! Although we asked for medium cook on beef it was almost well done, but again the lady were nice, know what she’s doing!!
