Food was quick but a bit over priced for what you receive, had the salmon eggs bene which was nice but small for the money when you can get bigger versions cheaper in Auckland where you expect to pay more. Smoothie was nice but once again a little pricey and not very thick.

Food was delivered at a great speed. I was checked at the table twice if my meal was ok. Great variety of bakery items available.

Finally found a good cafe in matamata, needed as a stop through to Tauranga. Coffee a bit watery, but brioche good and menu looked yummy, including lambs fry (hard to find and a favorite!). Now know where to stop in future!

Momento Espresso Matamata
Trying a change of cafe today on my trip through Matamata and have enjoyed a late breakfast at momento. Eggs and bacon were good as was the coffee - quick service clean and friendly staff.Another stop in the way home and the food and service remains excellent. Today I was naughty in food choices and had an almond croissant which was excellent and the porridge. Cost is $$

Excellent breakfast spot, we stopped here enroute to Hobbiton and it was an excellent spot for coffee and breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was delicious and there was free WiFi.

Beautiful women taking the orders and making the coffees. Cafe was nice and tidy. The chef tho, had poor hygiene. Touching dirty dishes from tables, her cell phone, her nose and face. All while cooking. I wanted to get a refund but we had somewhere to be a time wasn’t on our side. Food was average.Oil did not splash on her face. She was on the opposite side of the oven, cell phone in one hand and other hand wiping her nose. She continued to wipe her nose while cooking. She didnt wash her hands once. Other customer dishes and cell phones are even more unhygienic. Regardless who is cooking and staffing this should be maintained don’t you think?

The coffee is great as is the food with vegetarian options! It’s spacious and warm. Highly recommend. There are also gluten free meals along with Leto diet options. This place is great. It has very friendly staff too!
