Patetonga Cafe
First time here. Don't normally commute back to Auckland this way and was surprised to see a cafe. Stopped for a break and was impressed with both service and coffee. The food looks very good and I look forward to trying on my next trip. Open before 8, but it is a reasonably busy link to Morrinsville, Matamata and further south.

Nice little Cafe in the middle of nowhere prices are fair and the owners are friendly people who provide good service. I asked for 3 sugars in one coffee and they didn't just give me 3 sugar sashes but put the sugar in the coffee for me.

Visited this morning for coffee and something to eat on the way to Auckland. The premises was very clean and tidy. We ordered a pastrami bun, sausage roll, pie and coffee. It was all fresh and delicious. The coffee was great. Will definitely stop here again, the owners were very nice and polite. Thank you

28Apr22 1516 Stopped with little granddaughters on the way from Manukau to Tauranga. Very clean. Friendly and hospitable owners. So we sat at the storefront table eating our ice creams and filled roll .. while the trucks and cars roared past. This cafe has a great display of fresh rolls, savouries and cakes. First time ever I have stopped here though I've been passing this store and intersection since 1986! Stop by with your passengers .. help the local economy.

Wanted to stop in there for quite some time, and finally did because my daughter had to use the loo. Glad I did, because the guy was happy enough for us to use the toilet without knowing we were going to buy anything.The pie I bought was one of the nicest pies I've had for ages. Big chunks of steak and real cheese, perfect eating Temperature and great texture on the pastry. My sad bought a chicken pie and still talking about it today. When we left it seemed like the guy was happier to hear that we enjoyed our food and coffee, than we were for enjoying our food and coffee.. ill definitely be stopping in there as a regular from now on

What a little gem to find in the middle of nowhere. If you are driving south from Auckland, going via Matamata. about 40 minutes before getting to Matamata, you will find Patetonga Cafe/Takeaways. There is a lovely covered courtyard outside where you can sit with your dog (just ask the owner to open the gate), and enjoy the delicious food you have just purchased at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend!

Okay food. Pretty exterior as one walks into cafe. Nice deck tho could be improved by mowing lawn in front of it. Need to remove dead flies from window sill when sitting inside.
