Howick Historical Village
Lovely historic village especially on an open/live day with games and live demonstrations. Very friendly staff. Love the herb plants and fruit trees.

Lovely open air museum showing the cottages of the first (mostly) European arrivals to New Zealand. You can enter most of the huts and houses, and since they're all original, it's very interesting to see. There's also a café and a cute gift shop.

yesterday we spent a couple of hours here and found the village most informative and interesting and what fun it was to make butter being instructed by a lovely lady in period dress, plus there is a nice cafe on site

It was ad-hoc Saturday afternoon plan for me & my partner to visit this historic place. Loved the easy walk around with a bit of history. Put things into perspective for us. We appreciated more of what’s available to us today.

This is a fantastic little peace of East Aucklands history, it's a treasure. Even comes complete with a haunted house... or so they say...

A truly remarkable piece of history!Howick Village settlement began in 1847 when retired soldiers from England came to help defend Auckland......A great deal of history attached to this village, it is a 'must visit' place. We are from England and have been here three times and enjoyed every minute of it.Thoroughly recommended and check out the history too!!
