Blue Pools Track
This is a part of a stream that looks like a swimming pool may be 5 feet deep at most places and with blue colored water.Very nice outdoor swimming place with beautiful scenery all around. After parking, we need to walk a little to get to the water.

Blue Pools Track
Beautiful drive there. Big car park. A beautiful bush walk. There is a sign saying that the bridge is closed. Someone has broken the barrier that was supposed to prevent people walking on it. The bridge looks in perfect condition have no idea why it’s closed. Some people walked over the bridge no worries. We stayed at Wonderland Makarora Lodge, lovely accommodation!

Great clear water. There was a lot going on here. Unfortunately we forgot our swimming trunks. Could only get in with their feet. Very cold. Lots of sand flies.

Blue Pools Track
IS IT RAINING… Don’t bother walking the track if it has been raining. It is a 6 km walk in and out to the car park. The suspension bridges are very nice to look at and to walk. However, when it is pouring down rain and river is in flood, it is no longer blue. You need to carry plenty of water with you.. Cheers, big ears.

Blue Pools Track
3km walk, about 1hr if you paced yourself and brisk walk. However if you are planning to have a slow walk and take many pictures, its good to allocate a bit more time there, roughly 2-2.5hrs. Slight inclined and declines but the walk is not too difficult, generally rated fairly easy.

Blue Pools Track
This is a 20 minute walk to the Blue Pools. The walk is easy going and you go through lovely forests and then cross a swinging bridge to get to the Blue Pools which are magnificent

Blue Pools Track
Crystal clear, Icy-water which the reflection of the lights makes it look blue. The walk with a couple of swing bridges makes the trip even more interesting.It is about 25 mins walk from the public carpark. The carpark has toilet facilities.

Nice track to the Blue Pools that is well maintained. Yes the water is blue and some want to take a dip but be warned it can be cold. Lots of parking available.

Be warned, Not for the faint hearted, the water is very cold. It is however a must do, you will be invigorated for the trek back to the car

Blue Pools Track
The walk to the blue pools is beautiful with loads of nature. The walk takes around 20-25 minutes to get to the blue pools. The water was very blue and these photos were taken with no filter. You’ll definitely want photos so bring a good quality camera. The day was overcast with no sun but it didn’t really matter. There are public toilets in the car park but none on the actual walk itself.
