Not bad. Recently renovated and new so the seasoning of dishes change around a bit with changing chefs however not bad. Their truffle beef is absolutely delicious. Super tender and fragrant. Other dishes are so so, good but nothing special. Always super busy.

Great Chinese cuisine at Eastern Auckland. On top of the spacious dining area, there are three private rooms, each can have 2-3 tables which is perfect space for private/group dining or functions.

The place has gone through a full revamp and is no longer an embarrassing place to dine. The layout and decor has had a major upgrade. The menu is a lot more appealing and the food tastes fresher. Well done!Less one star due to blatantly rude service. I’m of Asian decent but speak English due to being born in NZ and was treated differently. I went in, told the cashier name and booking (booked under Chinese friends name). She refused to give me the table as I was unable to “prove” it was my booking. She asked for the phone number connected to booking, I was carrying my son and struggling to get phone out so I asked “how many parties of 15 do you have tonight?” She answered “two”. I then asked “ok so how many do you have for 5.30pm?” She said “one” so I replied “so that’s obviously my table then”. She still refused to give us the table. My friend then arrived who speaks Chinese, all she did was say a surname and we were seated, she was not questioned further. During this exchange, one of the managers very loudly (thinking that I don’t understand Cantonese) repeatedly said “I find the English language so ugly to listen to!!!” Need I remind him that he has migrated to an English speaking country? Why am I receiving racism from my own people in my country where I’m speaking my native tongue? Even my father looked over at me after the third time, with eyes saying “what the f***?!” Say it once, fine, but three times? We have been loyal customers and will continue to be but please, you don’t treat people like that, regardless of their origins.

I've waited till now to try it out, as there are always going to be issues with newly opened restaurants. We arrived at 11.45am for Yum Cha and did not have to wait. They did however ask us if we minded being seated on a bigger table with others. We said ok and were seated by ourselves, as no one else joined our table afterwards. The food came out at a reasonable speed, but we were seated close to the kitchen, so had first choice when food came out. They have a few special dishes that other restaurants may not have, so it's worth trying. Overall, the food tasted pretty good, but I do miss the freshly baked buns they used to have at Kings House. Price wise, we paid $9 for a large, $10 for an extra large and $11 for special dishes. A little pricey for the value you get.EDIT: Tried here for dinner in Jan 2023. Had to book a table as they were always full in the weekends. Ordered 6 dishes and the portions were decent size. Good flavours and was pleasantly satisfied.

We came here just before closing and was welcomed and seated really quickly. After we ordered the food came out really quickly and the servings were massive and some really tasty food. The Peking duck was just roast duck but was still really tasty and the 2nd course of the duck was the stir fry lettuce wrap was outstanding. The squid had some great flavour but could have been slightly more tender.I've been here twice and will certainly be back again.

First time visit this place with family. Excellent service, great food. No problem finding a car park. The crayfish dish was extremely tasty and fresh. Will come back next time come to Auckland.

It's was quite empty when we enter for dinner so we are a bit worried. But end up its not bad at all. The food is nice and portion is big. Really enjoy the dinner and services is ok. The fresh fish wasn't too fresh but apart from that. I think it's reasonable for the price we pay. Come with free soup and dessert.
