Te Waka Unua School

My eldest son attended Te waka Unua,and my younger son followed..its an amazing multiracial school with amazing teachers who take care of the kids.

I will be honest, when we first moved into the area I had a preconceived idea about Te Waka (was woolston at the time.) I was sure I wouldn't send my children there. But after touring the local schools, I fell in love with Te Waka Unua.My oldest is year 7 and all three of my boys now attend. We have been blown away by all the opportunities they have been provided with. The community feel of the school is my favourite part - the kids are very supportive of each other and the teachers are great. I believe a principal can make or break a school and Janeane, the principal, in the words of my kids is amazing."I dont think many children have a completely smooth journey through school

mid school teachers pick favourite and would blame other people for doing things when everyone else was doing it

I recommended this school to any families who wanted the best for their children. I have six children from the eldest to the youngest all attended and I never regret a day they are at the school. They were very supportive and caring in any way you ask when ever you are in needs. The principal, assistants and teachers are amazing, loving and excellent. Proud parents

Such a positive and supportive example and really passionate and eager to help the children develop.it always pays to get to know your school to help them help you.love this school and so do my girls

Honestly it was horrible I was coming home with one injury after another I think this school needs a better system to for bullying because I was being tortured at the school and no one was doing anything about it .. it became a thing skipping classes because I couldn't bear it anymore other than that I wouldn't say it's a bad" school bit I will say I personally with never step foot in that place again .."

Absolutely useless school way too many students in comparison to teachers. The principal" is a TOTAL JOKE! Belittles you when you try get a solution for your child being bullied and laughed when I told her my son was having his head banged into the concrete by a student. Then replies with "what do you want me to do about it? I can't change what had already happened" would NEVER recommend this school for ANY CHILD!!!"
