River Road Retreat

Such a beautiful property, we had the most relaxing getaway and loved learning about the truffle farm. The owners made us feel very welcome, would highly recommend.

The Retreat is beautifully set up for two couples. The spa and garden are amazing and the hospitality from Pete and Rebecca is generous and friendly.

Pete and Rebecca were the best hosts you could ask for! The property is so beautiful and relaxing. Stayed here with my partner and enjoyed some of the homegrown truffles. They were delightful. Not to mention Rebecca’s homemade chilli sauce. That stuff is honestly life changing. Would highly recommend for a weekend away!

The River Rd Retreat is one of the best places we have stayed. The cottage is very stylish with a spectacular outlook and the place itself had everything we needed. The hospitality was fantastic and the breakfasts were delicious. It is in a lovely area of the Tasman region, with lots of fantastic walks and bike trails close by. We are looking forward to coming back for another stay!

We had such a wonderful time staying at River Road Retreat. Cosy, quiet and stylish accommodation with some amazing views. Great organic breakfast and some of the best truffles I've ever tasted.Owners, Rebecca and Pete were so lovely and super helpful. They gave us so many helpful tips on what to do and where to go in Nelson.I would most definitely return to stay at River Road Retreat again and highly recommend it!Make sure you pet Meg, the truffle dog in charge.

I don’t give out 5 stars often but I was blown away by my stay at River Road.Firstly the garden was divine, filled with amazing produce and designed to be so splendid on the eyes. The setting reminds me of beautiful English garden with dashes of French style, I couldn’t tell if I was in Yorkshire or Provence.It is difficult to decide what was my favourite memory, the retreat it self was so comfortable and homely. The hot tub was the perfect accompaniment to glass of central Otago Pinot Noir. But I think the winner for me was a gin and tonic watching the sunset from under the ancient oak tree.Pure bliss! I hope to be back soon!Rebecca and Pete Rock!!

Our stay at river road was out of this world spectacular. Such amazing views across the landscape. Literally 5 star accomodation, with attention to details that made our stay even more memorable. The staff were some of the friendless people on the planet and the fresh produce from their extensive immaculate garden was on point. We got to taste their truffle which was shaved on home made fresh pasta, it was sensational, a delight to the tastebuds. If raising the bar was the expectation, these guys have lifted it to new heights. We will come back and stay again and rate it to anyone who wants a truely unique NZ holiday. Thank you so much guys!
