Just the most lovely country home and farm

We had our wedding here and Karen and Murray went to all lengths to make sure it was a great day! The gardens were immaculate, they were always available to answer questions, and the touches like the table for signing the register were very much appreciated! We would highly recommend. Thank you!

We were fortunate to come across this hidden gem on the outskirts of Nelson as an idyllic setting for our wedding. If the venue itself wasn't enough, the owners, Karen and Murray were passionate, enthusiastic and wanted nothing more that for our day to be perfect, which is was. We had our wedding ceremony on the lower lawn followed by marquee function on the top lawn and spent our wedding night in the cottage on site which was immaculately presented and incredibly comfortable. The photo's don't do it justice.We cannot praise Karen and Murray enough for letting us use their home for our wedding and all the additional help they gave us. We would highly recommend Thackwood Cottage to anyone, whether it be for a function or a nice relaxing break at the B&B (Karen's breakfast is to die for!).Tim & Laura
