Love this place. Our family always stop here when traveling North. Whether its 5am in the morning or coming home in the afternoon. Couple of picnic tables, toilet, beautiful swimming in clear lake. Excellent, big parking area and just off the main road. Not many people visit which is great too.

We stayed in this car park in a self contained campervan overnight as it was in close proximity to the start of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing which we drove to and completed the following day.
