Please come and open up your restaurant in Perth, Western Australia. Had to dine in twice the spaghetti was that bloody delicious, the service was excellent. Definitely the best Italian restaurant in Nelson, NZ.

I recently dined at Babagatto and had a terrific experience. I’ve lived in Italy for long stints so I love eating at Italian restaurants that remind me of genuine good quality, authentic Italian family meals/experiences. This was amazing. The staff were friendly, service was quick and the food delicious.We had the gnocchi and the spaghetti al pesto. The spaghetti sauce was rich and packed with flavour. Thick too.The lava cake was probably the best I’ve had from memory.

Count our lucky stars we found this place. We live in Switzerland and have been to Italy often - this is like transplanting a piece of Italy into Nelson.We shared a Bolognese and the Ravioli - both divine.My advice, go there hungry and do not skip dessert - that’s awesome too. Hot chocolate cakes and the tiramisu.Do yourself a favour, stop reading this and go and reserve a table.

Yet another authentic experience at the best Italian restaurant in Nelson. They even made a special Lasagne for my granddaughters 10th birthday. The owner is always a laugh a minute with his front of house antics. We love this place.
