Driven by never stopped but so glad I did today. Big cafe with outdoor seating and craft shop inside. Great food and service. Clear that staff know many who come in. Parking out front and clean toilets. A hidden gem.

The Store Tai Tapu, I had always wanted to go here. My expectations were blown away, there is a gift area with such cute & quirky things. The atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered a ‘Very Berry Smoothie’ I sat down in the charming outdoor area. It came quickly and it was a decent size and it tasted great.Overall, I think more people need to come here, it’s a hidden gem. Definitely will be back.

Great place to catch up with family and friends, a good range of cabinet food, and off the menu, coffee's we're good but waited for 10min for our last coffee to be made as they seemed to serve the take away coffee's first ( had to ask) otherwise lovelyWe'll be back either biking or in the car

The store may be modest but so worth the visit. We went for the high tea as there were few other places that do this on weekdays. Every item was outstanding. Staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

It was a year ago!I wanted to remember this place!I was impressed! I heard it while driving by!I found this place after looking at the picture now!A cafe I saw while passing through Akaroa! We had coffee and brunch and it was so delicious! It was delicious and I was happy~ Lucky!

Brilliant service and brilliant food there really isn't much to dislike. From what I have seen most of the negative reviews here are either old or unreasonable. My experience was fantastic and I had great staff deliver my meal. Food was brilliant to definitely worth the stop by. I could tell they were a bit busy but my needs were still tended to flawlessly and its hard to miss the drastic efforts they go to to please customers!

I had lunch at The Store but also bought 2 Survival Meals to takeaway. I got the Cottage pie and the Bacon and Egg pie. Both were fabulous. So tasty and well made. If I ever come to Tai Tapu again I will be seriously loading up on these meals for consuming in the motorhome.

I discovered these guys do a Vegan High Tea on Happy Cow!! The review was from 2020 so I asked The Store if they still do them and yes they do!!! They have a couple of price options, standard (with tea, coffee or OJ) or with bubbles (unsure if that’s as well as or instead of the other drink options). You can book and just decide if you’re doing bubbles on the day, as I did for a surprise high tea :)As at Feb 2023 it's $44pp (minimum 2 guests) or $54pp with bubbles.We were really impressed with the high tea content - the savoury and sweet options were both great, as was the coffee! The service was also great, from multiple staff.Four stars though as there aren't many other vegan options on offer. More stars down the track if a vegan menu is brought on (and I'm aware of it).The down sides are the road noise if you're outside, the high tea is lovely but pricey and, apart from the high tea, they only have limited vegan cabinet food.
