Absolutely loved the butter chicken I had, it was very sweet just the way I like it, great place to celebrate anything. service was great, food took some time to come out but it was a bit packed but had a great chat while waiting :) I definitely recommend this place

Very disappointed with the service, food taste and the quantity. Took them more than an hour to get our order served. We were asked the spice level but we were never served or not even close to what we requested. Additional 10% surcharge for dining, unbelievable!

My friends and I got the butter chicken (medium spice) with garlic naan after a long day of tramping...worst Indian food we've ever had. The sauce tasted like Watties, it seemed like the chicken was the microwaved, the naan tasted like nothing and the everything was so bland we had to salt it. For kiwi's this is a great meal, bland and full of tomato sauce...for us North Americans we had to toss it in the bin after a few bites. And as I type this we just found a hair in the rice! This made me feel bad for cheating on my usual Indian place back in Palmy. Such as a bummer :(

Having enjoyed north and South Indian food prepared in India and abroad I left spice junction in Whakatāne disappointed. The blended texture was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted - clearly fast food like in preparation. Flavors were bland. Thank goodness the bottled kingfisher beer was tasty as always!

Quality has dropped significantly….mango lassi is not drinkable, far to much spice in it & my ‘chicken avo salad’ has limp slimy lettuce, 3 small pieces of brown old avocado & the chicken is yuck and dry…dont think ill be back to a place that used to be my fav :(

Best takeaway Indian food we have had.From out of town and we were a bit iffy to order here not knowing what they are like but we were very pleasantly surprised.Next time we are there will definitely visit again. I don’t normally do google reviews but this place deserves the recognition.
