A hidden gem in the Waikato. Genuine hospitality from an extremely experienced Chef. Great food made with care. Reuben rates the xtreme chocolate brownie 1 million stars. Well done Roland.

Delicious food, comfort our souls and stomachs after a long detour from road blockage due to road closure in current raining weather. Hosts are a pair of lovely couples who had a nice chat with us. Do drop by, highly recommended for the food and hospitality.

Down Thyme Restaurant & Cafe
It's rare to find genuine hospitality like this in the hospitality industry. The owner made us feel like welcome guests here rather than just customers. The restaurant location seems a bit out of the way at first but it makes sense once you get there - there's a nice relaxing view of the countryside from the villa windows. I could recommend the unique homemade burger with Turkish bread followed by Turkish coffee. We also saw guests drop by on their bikes for ice cream or coffee. We hope to come back here next time we're in the area.

Nice restaurant in the quiet town of Waihi. Owners were very friendly and recommended the lamb. Some of the best I have ever tried. Would recommend if you're looking for some fine dining on your travels in the North island of NZ

Great atmosphere. Had such a good experience today! Food was amazing. Our host was friendly and very welcoming. We will definitely return. Highly recommend the homemade lemonade, lamb shish kebab and the baklava was the best I've ever tried. Prices were very responsible.

Down Thyme Restaurant & Cafe
We stopped here while driving up the Coromandel, and I highly recommend it! After a short hike we needed a little bit of fuel but not a full meal, so a simple salad with bread and dips were perfect. The owners were super nice and the pleasant atmosphere makes this a great stop for anyone making their way through the area!!

He has made us feel incredibly welcome. Delicious food, the difference is made by great people and we are grateful to have enjoyed ourselves in this beautiful place. More than recommended for everyone in New Zealand!!

Beautiful ambience and interior. Had the platter was $92 and it was overly priced for overcooked meat beef and lamb Kebab, only the chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. Overall I couldn’t tasted Mediterranean spice at all. Would not recommend this place again, Had really good drinks selection on the drinks menu.

Situated in Waihi, we found this place via a quick Google search.The food was really really good especially if you’re tired of eating the usual burger/fries/steak and potatoes.We had the mixed platter which had the chicken, lamb and beef grilled kebabs. They were amazing! Quite authentic and very close to actual Turkish/Lebanese food.We had the blueberry tart white vanilla and blueberry ice cream which was surprisingly very tasty. The tart was soft and moist and just melted away.We had some Pinot Gris and dessert wine (Riesling) which went really well with our food.Soul satisfying food!! A must visit if you’re heading to Waihi.
